* let us be people of power

* individually and together we must operate in the power of the Holy Spirit

Acts 19:6 When Paul placed his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in tongues and prophesied.

* the disciples became true disciples by believing in Jesus

* they became powerful disciples when the Holy Spirit came upon them

* this is an empowerment by the Holy Spirit

* the disciples gave control over to the Holy Spirit

* this is where we are at today

Signs and Wonders

Acts 2:22  “Fellow Israelites, listen to this: Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him, as you yourselves know.

Acts 5:12 The apostles performed many signs and wonders among the people.

Acts 14:3 So Paul and Barnabas spent considerable time there, speaking boldly for the Lord, who confirmed the message of his grace by enabling them to perform signs and wonders.

Our Position

Hebrews 2:3-4 3  how shall we escape if we ignore so great a salvation? This salvation, which was first announced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard him. 4  God also testified to it by signs, wonders and various miracles, and by gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will.

signs and wonders are testaments to God’s working

gifts of the Holy Spirit are valid expressions of God’s power

these are not human devices or manipulations

this is Jesus working in and through each and every one of us

Romans 15:17-19 17  Therefore I glory in Christ Jesus in my service to God. 18  I will not venture to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me in leading the Gentiles to obey God by what I have said and done— 19  by the power of signs and wonders, through the power of the Spirit of God.

our desire is to glorify Jesus Christ

all glory and honour is to be given to him

there is no boasting in ourselves

just a humbleness that Jesus is using us

in fact Paul would not even speak of his accomplishments unless it was done through Christ

LET US BE WILLING TO LET JESUS USE US FOR HIS PURPOSE

be eager to use the gifts the Spirit gives us

be bold to do so

expect signs and wonders and miracles
