Mark 1:21–28 NKJV
21 Then they went into Capernaum, and immediately on the Sabbath He entered the synagogue and taught. 22 And they were astonished at His teaching, for He taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes. 23 Now there was a man in their synagogue with an unclean spirit. And he cried out, 24 saying, “Let us alone! What have we to do with You, Jesus of Nazareth? Did You come to destroy us? I know who You are—the Holy One of God!” 25 But Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be quiet, and come out of him!” 26 And when the unclean spirit had convulsed him and cried out with a loud voice, he came out of him. 27 Then they were all amazed, so that they questioned among themselves, saying, “What is this? What new doctrine is this? For with authority He commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey Him.” 28 And immediately His fame spread throughout all the region around Galilee.
Here’s how preaching works:
- we have God’s law written on our hearts
The Word enters through your ears
The Holy Spirit connects what’s written on your hearts with the Word that just entered.
This is how the Word divides and discerns!
To apologize for the Word, to water-down the Word, to pick and choose, to skip parts, to generalize it, to speak theory instead of specifics, denies the Holy Spirit what he uses to connect with God’s Law on the hearer’s heart!!!
That’s what the scribes would do.
The most powerful use of authority that we have, is speaking the Word.
What can you speak the Word to?
PRIMARILY: to others.
To God!
To unclean spirits!
To natural events!
if it’s God’s Word your speaking, you don’t have to even hesitate at all, YOU CAN STAND ON IT WITH CONFIDENCE AND BOLDNESS!!!
If our prayers are truly kingdom driven, how many of them are answered by simply our OWN speaking of the Word to others?
to our family
to our friends?
I spoke about, “You just got sown’d!” and immediately saw fruit from that message.
What role does the Word play in your words to others?
What role should it play?
Remember: one of the primary reasons you get in the Word every day, is to get ammunition.
next: prayer and preaching are the same!!!
Prayer is supposed to be speaking the Word, JUST LIKE PREACHING!!!
PREACH God’s promises to Him!
PREACH to your obstacles!
PREACH to your needs!
PREACH to the needs of your loved ones!
PREACH GOD’S WORD TO YOUR PRAYERS!!!
Matthew 6:7–15 NKJV
7 And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words. 8 “Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him. 9 In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. 10 Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors. 13 And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. 14 “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
You can ALWAYS ask God for HELP to do His Will!
Hebrews 4:14–16 NKJV
14 Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. 15 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
Find things that reveal God’s will, and pray for help doing them!
We are EXPLICTLY instructed to pray for His Will!!!
For OUR lives, for our FAMILY’S lives, for our LOVED ONE’S, for our BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN CHRIST!!!
Matthew 5:5–10 NKJV
5 Blessed are the meek, For they shall inherit the earth. 6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled. 7 Blessed are the merciful, For they shall obtain mercy. 8 Blessed are the pure in heart, For they shall see God. 9 Blessed are the peacemakers, For they shall be called sons of God. 10 Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
