The Early Years
The Early Years
· Church on the Rock-Abilene started as New Life Ministries in the Home of Mike and Marsha hill in their home at some point in 1992.
· New life Ministries was organized in February of 1993. The first season in the life of this church where in the home of the pastor.
· The Church was at that point primarily made up of youth. Pastor Mike Hill is a good father and grandfather. He always had a connection to youth. Pastor Hill started meeting with the youth. So New Life Ministries (now Church on the Rock-Abilene or The Rock) started as a youth meeting. Later that youth meeting become a Sunday morning service.
· The founding Pastor responded to an ad in the paper from a couple who owned a day care looking for a newly started Church to help with maintenance and upkeep in exchange for rent. According to Elder Trowell the maintenance aspect never really happened but we got the best worship leader in the world out of it. we also got a prophetic elder out of it, along with the second youth minister.
· From daycare center the church moved to a teen outreach the founding pastor had started called “the solid Rock café.” The church was not there verry long.
· From the teen ministry the church moved to its own storefront on industrial Blvd.
· From Industrial BLVD. the church moved to 1610 vine street.
· From Vine street we moved to grape street.

Why I feel the way I do about things 😊
Why I feel the way I do about things 😊
13 Then He went out again by the sea; and all the multitude came to Him, and He taught them. 14 As He passed by, He saw Levi the son of Alphaeus sitting at the tax office. And He said to him, “Follow Me.” So he arose and followed Him.
15 Now it happened, as He was dining in Levi’s house, that many tax collectors and sinners also sat together with Jesus and His disciples; for there were many, and they followed Him. 16 And when the scribes and Pharisees saw Him eating with the tax collectors and sinners, they said to His disciples, “How is it that He eats and drinks with tax collectors and sinners?”
17 When Jesus heard it, He said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.”
18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.
