2 Kings 6:8–23 CSB
8 When the king of Aram was waging war against Israel, he conferred with his servants, “My camp will be at such and such a place.” 9 But the man of God sent word to the king of Israel: “Be careful passing by this place, for the Arameans are going down there.” 10 Consequently, the king of Israel sent word to the place the man of God had told him about. The man of God repeatedly warned the king, so the king would be on his guard. 11 The king of Aram was enraged because of this matter, and he called his servants and demanded of them, “Tell me, which one of us is for the king of Israel?” 12 One of his servants said, “No one, my lord the king. Elisha, the prophet in Israel, tells the king of Israel even the words you speak in your bedroom.” 13 So the king said, “Go and see where he is, so I can send men to capture him.” When he was told, “Elisha is in Dothan,” 14 he sent horses, chariots, and a massive army there. They went by night and surrounded the city. 15 When the servant of the man of God got up early and went out, he discovered an army with horses and chariots surrounding the city. So he asked Elisha, “Oh, my master, what are we to do?” 16 Elisha said, “Don’t be afraid, for those who are with us outnumber those who are with them.” 17 Then Elisha prayed, “Lord, please open his eyes and let him see.” So the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he saw that the mountain was covered with horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. 18 When the Arameans came against him, Elisha prayed to the Lord, “Please strike this nation with blindness.” So he struck them with blindness, according to Elisha’s word. 19 Then Elisha said to them, “This is not the way, and this is not the city. Follow me, and I will take you to the man you’re looking for.” And he led them to Samaria. 20 When they entered Samaria, Elisha said, “Lord, open these men’s eyes and let them see.” So the Lord opened their eyes, and they saw that they were in the middle of Samaria. 21 When the king of Israel saw them, he said to Elisha, “Should I kill them, should I kill them, my father?” 22 Elisha replied, “Don’t kill them. Do you kill those you have captured with your sword or your bow? Set food and water in front of them so they can eat and drink and go to their master.” 23 So he prepared a big feast for them. When they had eaten and drunk, he sent them away, and they went to their master. The Aramean raiders did not come into Israel’s land again.

Point #1: We Encourage One Another By Directing One Another to Look to the Lord!

ELISHA WAS FULLY ENGAGED IN THE MISSION THAT GOD HAD FOR HIM!
ELISHA ALLOWED HIS FAITH TO HELP INFORM OTHER PEOPLES FAITH!
ELISHA TOOK OTHER PEOPLE ON MISSION WITH HIM
WHAT IS BEING ON MISSION? Being on mission means to pursue the Lord’s leading, seeking to serve Him and serve others in the Building of God’s Kingdom, in this life and the next!!!
Hebrews 12:1–3 CSB
1 Therefore, since we also have such a large cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us lay aside every hindrance and the sin that so easily ensnares us. Let us run with endurance the race that lies before us, 2 keeping our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith. For the joy that lay before him, he endured the cross, despising the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 For consider him who endured such hostility from sinners against himself, so that you won’t grow weary and give up.
WE ARE ENCOURAGED BY THE CORPORATE FAITH OF THE CHURCH THROUGH THE CENTURIES...
WE ARE ENCOURAGED BY OUR LOCAL CHURCH TO SHUN EVIL AND RUN THE RACE OF FAITH...
WE ENDURE DIFFICULTY BECAUSE OF ALL THAT JESUS ENDURED TO SAVE US!!!
WE DON’T GROW WEARY AND WE DON’T GIVE UP BECAUSE JESUS DIDN’T AND OUR CHURCH FAMILY HASN’T!
Hebrews 10:23–25 CSB
23 Let us hold on to the confession of our hope without wavering, since he who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider one another in order to provoke love and good works, 25 not neglecting to gather together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging each other, and all the more as you see the day approaching.

Point #2: Stay Engaged in Church: This will help you stay on the mission that God has for you!

Ephesians 5:15–21 CSB
15 Pay careful attention, then, to how you walk—not as unwise people but as wise— 16 making the most of the time, because the days are evil. 17 So don’t be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is. 18 And don’t get drunk with wine, which leads to reckless living, but be filled by the Spirit: 19 speaking to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing and making music with your heart to the Lord, 20 giving thanks always for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, 21 submitting to one another in the fear of Christ.

Point #3: Live in Such a Way That You Encourage Others, That You are Worthy of Emulating!

1 Corinthians 11:1 CSB
1 Imitate me, as I also imitate Christ.

Encouragement: Giving someone confidence or boldness to do something. Also: “Exhortation.”
