3D Living

Proverbs 1:1–3 NLT
These are the proverbs of Solomon, David’s son, king of Israel. Their purpose is to teach people wisdom and discipline, to help them understand the insights of the wise. Their purpose is to teach people to live disciplined and successful lives, to help them do what is right, just, and fair.

Proverbs 2:1-12

Proverbs 2:1–12 NLT
My child, listen to what I say, and treasure my commands. Tune your ears to wisdom, and concentrate on understanding. Cry out for insight, and ask for understanding. Search for them as you would for silver; seek them like hidden treasures. Then you will understand what it means to fear the Lord, and you will gain knowledge of God. For the Lord grants wisdom! From his mouth come knowledge and understanding. He grants a treasure of common sense to the honest. He is a shield to those who walk with integrity. He guards the paths of the just and protects those who are faithful to him. Then you will understand what is right, just, and fair, and you will find the right way to go. For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will fill you with joy. Wise choices will watch over you. Understanding will keep you safe. Wisdom will save you from evil people, from those whose words are twisted.

Wisdom comes from God .

Knowledge is horizontal. Wisdom is vertical; it comes down from above.

Wisdom is seeing and living life clearly through the lens of scripture.

Wisdom is not the same as knowledge

Wisdom is very PRACTICAL.

Proverbs 20:19 (NIV)
A gossip betrays a confidence; so avoid anyone who talks too much.
Proverbs 25:17 (NLT)
Don’t visit your neighbors too often, or you will wear out your welcome
Proverbs 26:11 (NIV)
As a dog returns to its vomit, so fools repeat their folly.

Wisdom has huge BENEFITS.

The Simple.

(Proverbs 7:7) I saw among the simple, I noticed among the young men, a youth who had no sense.

The Fool.

(Proverbs 10:23) A fool finds pleasure in wicked schemes…

The Mocker.

(Proverbs 9:7-8) Whoever corrects a mocker invites insults; whoever rebukes the wicked incurs abuse. Do not rebuke mockers or they will hate you.

The Wise.

(Proverbs 9:9) Instruct the wise and they will be wiser still; teach the righteous and they will add to their learning.
