Intro:
The last lesson we discussed saving faith and the example Noah was of that.
What are some components of Saving Faith?
Righteousness,
Obedience
Faith
Noah walked with God. Noah did what God said. Noah was saved through faith.
Now I want to think about deliverance. Noah was also delivered from the filth of the world that was destroyed. He was delivered from death.

God Remembered Noah

Noah built the Ark.
He and his family entered it.
Then it rained and rained.
They were really in God’s hands.
Did they have enough food, when was this going to stop?
But God Remembered them.
God knows what we need.
Noah had to know that the food would run out.
God knew this.
We aren’t told of what happened on the Ark during this time.
They would have surely been feeding and caring for the animals.
God caused the waters to start receding at the right time.
They ended up being on the Ark for around a year.
God knows what we need.
The only sermon that I remember from Bob Miller in NYC was a statement God will be there. He is right around the corner. He is not late.
When we grow to experience this more and more, we can rest in God.

Deliverance is to be experienced now

I. The ark is a type of Christ.
As the Ark saved Noah, so Jesus saves and delivers us.
Rom. 1:14-17
The Gospel of Christ. The power of God.
Rom. 5:12-6
The water played a part in Noah’s deliverance.
It is a type of baptism.
The world was cleansed, Noah was delivered from that world by the water.
God washes us clean when we come to Jesus and repent and follow Him.
I Peter 3:20-22
We have been buried and raised with Christ.
We know this, but lets live with this reality.
We have this message to proclaim.
Colossians 2:11–15 NKJV
11 In Him you were also circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the sins of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ, 12 buried with Him in baptism, in which you also were raised with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead. 13 And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, 14 having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. 15 Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.

Result of being delivered

Can you imagine Noah coming off the Ark?
I mean just the gratitude on not having the filth and wickedness polluting the earth.
Vs. 20 Noah built an altar.
He worshipped God!
I remember being washed, being forgiven, set free.
This is continual.
This ongoing. When we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive our sins.
1 John 1:6–7 (NASB95)
6 If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth;
7 but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.
We have reason to be thankful and joyful.
Let’s worship God.
God has provided deliverance.
God has even provided way more through Jesus than the deliverance Noah experienced.
We can actually experience the death to our old self and new life with Jesus.
We can experience a changed heart.
Read Colossians 3:1-17
We are raised with Christ
This is why we gather to read the scriptures and sing. vs. 16

Future Deliverance

Yes. We are still on this earth.
We do still look forward to the second coming of Jesus.
When we will fully be delivered to life eternal.
We will experience Christ’s kingdom in it’s fullness.
