1A. THE IMPORTANCE OF THE BLOOD COVENANT
1B. The Meaning of Covenant
-"Beret" means "to cut" can be translated Blood Covenant.
-Irrevocable, irreversible, contract based on blood.
-Made by two people willing to commit their all to one another.
2B. The Method of the Blood Covenant
1. Incision - Right hands = Sharing of Personhood
2. Garments given = Sharing of Possessions
3. Weapons = Sharing of Protection
3B. The Manifestation of the Blood Covenant
1. Closer to each other than their own family.
2. David was a hero - Saul proud of David then envy
3. Saul set his heart on killing David.
4. Jonathan protects - later is slain.

THE STORY OF MEPHIBOSHETH
-Injured when his nurse fell on him.
-Taken to Lodebar = "no pasture"
-Told daily David is your enemy.
-Lived in total poverty in hiding.
David's kindness is based on his covenant with Jonathan.
Mephibosheth must decide whether or not to he is going to
honor a new King and ratify an old covenant.

David passes the food and he sees the scare on his wrist, the mark of the covenant.
"I don't deserve it, but I can't deny it, so I am going to enjoy it"

2B. Mephibosheth Represents the Sinner
1. Deformed = Crippled by a fall
Couldn't come had to be brought
Didn't want to come had to be sought
2. Dethroned = Meant to be a prince, grandson of a
King.

-Sinned robbed us - through Jesus became
joint heirs with that means to share and
share alike.
The Bible says we possess all things and yet have nothing.

Nothing you can do to make him love you any more and there is nothing you can to do to make him love you any less.
He doesn't love you because you are valuable,
You are valuable because He loves you.
He does not change you so He can change you
He loves you so He can change you.
CONCLUSION:
We need to realize that because of the Blood Covenant of Jesus, we have:
Person his blood
Possessions His robe of righteousness
Protection all the artillery of heaven is aimed at the enemy.
