Deliverance from Demonic Oppression
Deliverance from Demonic Oppression
Now He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath.
And behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bent over and could in no way raise herself up.
But when Jesus saw her, He called her to Him and said to her, “Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity.”
And He laid His hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.
But the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath; and he said to the crowd, “There are six days on which men ought to work; therefore come and be healed on them, and not on the Sabbath day.”
The Lord then answered him and said, “Hypocrite! Does not each one of you on the Sabbath loose his ox or donkey from the stall, and lead it away to water it?
So ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound—think of it—for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath?”
And when He said these things, all His adversaries were put to shame; and all the multitude rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by Him.
“When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’
And when he comes, he finds it swept and put in order.
how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.
Deliverance: Determining the Need
Deliverance: Determining the Need
The first step in dealing with demons is to take back the ground through which demons operate.
How do we know when a demon is involved in a person’s life?
When is deliverance necessary?
Many problems can be solved through repentance, forgiveness, and healing of soul hurts, but when everything else has not solved the problem, demonic activity may be involved.
Even Jesus found it necessary to address demonic activity in people’s lives to set them free from certain bondages and oppressions.
Some do not want deliverance. They only want relief.
“Deliverance without an encounter with the truth is only relief.”
Basically, there are two ways to determine if demonic activity is involved in a person’s life.
Through the discerning of spirits (1 Corinthians 12:10) This is a Holy Spirit given discernment or witness inside of the minister of deliverance. This comes as God grants it.
Through detection. That is, by observing what evil spirits are doing in, to, or through a person. Demonic activity is persistent or reoccurring in nature and usually involves a feeling of powerlessness on the part of the person to control themselves or to change.

Deliverance and healing are often closely linked.
RELIGIOUS ERROR: Involvement to any degree in religious error can open the door for demons. Even objects, jewelry, clothing, art, music and literature from sources of religious error have been known to usher in demonic activity in a person’s life. Religious error includes:
False Religions
Eastern religions
Pagan religions

“When you come into the land which the Lord your God is giving you, you shall not learn to follow the abominations of those nations.
There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, or one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer,
or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead.
For all who do these things are an abomination to the Lord, and because of these abominations the Lord your God drives them out from before you.
You shall be blameless before the Lord your God.
For these nations which you will dispossess listened to soothsayers and diviners; but as for you, the Lord your God has not appointed such for you.

“Christian” Cults: These cults deny or confuse the necessity of Christ’s blood as the way of atonement for sin and for salvation. They may use Scripture and even God as a foundation, but they omit the blood atonement of Jesus Christ. All such cults may be classified as “bloodless religions”, “having a form of godliness but denying its power, and from such people turn away!” (2 Timothy 3:5). Such cults include:
Mormonism
Jehovah’s Witnesses
Christian Science
Masons and Eastern Star Lodges
Some societies and lodges
Some social agencies
False Doctrine (1 Timothy 4:1 “doctrines of demons’)
Deny the humanity of Jesus
Deny the deity of Jesus
Deny the inspiration of Scripture
Deny the anointing and operation of the Holy Spirit
Disrupt unity in the body of Christ
Undermines the faith of believers through false doctrines coupled with a compulsion to propagate such doctrines
Puffs up with spiritual pride and superiority
Makes one unreachable
Emphasizes one’s ability to become as God
Fosters emphasis upon ceremonial mandates or restrictions as a gateway to the spiritual, as in asceticism and vegetarianism

God’s Strategy for Deliverance
I will not drive them out from before you in one year, lest the land become desolate and the beasts of the field become too numerous for you.
Little by little I will drive them out from before you, until you have increased, and you inherit the land.
And I will set your bounds from the Red Sea to the sea, Philistia, and from the desert to the River. For I will deliver the inhabitants of the land into your hand, and you shall drive them out before you.
God drives them out over time
God delivers the enemy into our hand through His victory on the Cross
We drive them out

Prayer for Deliverance from Demonic Oppression
“I confess my sin of ____________.
Today I forgive all who may have influenced me to sin. I repent of giving place to the demon of _________________.
I forgive myself for allowing these demons to inflict pain and limitations on my life. In the name of Jesus, I renounce and break all agreement with the demonic strongman of _________________ including all other associated demons of ____________________ and _______________________. I take authority over the demonic strongmen in my life and command them to leave me now based on the finished work of Jesus Christ on the Cross.
