JOSHUA 24:15
INTRODUCTION
Life Is Simply A Series Of Choices
A Sad Choice
On the table side by side;
A Holy Bible and the TV Guide,
One is well worn but cherished with pride,
(Not the Bible, but the TV Guide).
One is used daily to help folks decide,
No! It isn't the Bible; it's the TV Guide.
As pages are turned, what shall they see?
Oh, what does matter, turn on the TV.
So they open the book in which they confide
(No, not the Bible, it's the TV Guide).
The Word of God is seldom read,
Maybe a verse ere they fall into bed.
Exhausted and sleepy and tired as can be,
Not from reading the Bible, but watching TV.
So, then back to the table, side by side,
Is the Holy Bible and the TV Guide.
No time for prayer, no time for the Word;
The plan for salvation is seldom heard.
Forgiveness of sin so full and free
Is found in the Bible, not on TV!!

1C. To what Jesus has done for you
Hebrews 9:26 "Then Christ would have had to suffer many times since the creation of the world. But now he has appeared once for all at the end of the ages to do away with sin by the sacrifice of himself."
2C. To what Jesus wants to do for you
Philippians 1:6 "being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus."
2B. Sin will Bind You
1C. In your rejection of the Savior.
Colossians 2:8 "See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ."
The more you reject ‑ the harder it is to receive ‑ Pharaoh
2C. By your acceptance of sin.
2 Timothy 2:26 "and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will."
THE POWER OF THREAD TO BIND

1C. Sin will imprison You
Galatians 3:22 "But the Scripture declares that the whole world is a prisoner of sin, ...."
No freedom
Freedom is the ability to do right
2C. Sin will Impoverished You
Luke 9:25 "What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit his very self?"
Materially - sin will cost you coming and going
Without Jesus you are bankrupt

THE POWER OF THE LIGHT
When the Bastille, a castle‑like prison in Paris, was about to be destroyed in 1789, a convict was brought out who had been confined in one of its gloomy cells for many years. But instead of joyfully welcoming his liberty, he begged to be taken back.
It had been so long since he had seen the sunshine that his eyes could not endure its brightness. His only desire was to die in the murky dungeon where he had been a captive.
In the same way, some men continue to reject the Savior until they eventually become so hardened in their sin that they prefer the dark ways of eternal death.
