Example from the life of Jesus

Jesus was born of the Holy Spirit (Luke 1:35)
Jesus’ ministry began with His baptism with the Holy Spirit (Luke 3:21-22)

The Holy Spirit in the life of the believer

We are born “again” of the Holy Spirit (John 3:5)
The disciples received the indwelling Spirit before Pentecost (John 20:22). As in Creation, Jesus breathed upon them and told them to receive the Holy Spirit.
Jesus told the disciples to tarry for the Baptism with the Holy Spirit before launching out into ministry (Luke 24:49)

What is the Baptism with the Holy Spirit?

The Promise of the Father
Luke 24:49 NKJV
“Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high.”
Acts 1:4–8 NKJV
And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “which,” He said, “you have heard from Me; for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.” Therefore, when they had come together, they asked Him, saying, “Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” And He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority. But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

The Mantle of Jesus for Ministry

Elisha received the mantle of Elijah that fell at his ascension to finish the work of Elijah (2 Kings 2:1-15)
The Holy Spirit is the mantle of Jesus that fell after His ascension to believers to finish His work on the earth
Power for witness (Acts 1:8)
The “Rivers of Living Water”
Ezekiel 47 The river of God
John 7:38–39 NKJV
He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.

The Promise received

The Day of Pentecost
Acts 2:1–4 NKJV
When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
The purpose of tongues
Evidence of the Baptism with the Holy Spirit
Effective Prayer
Romans 8:26 NKJV
Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
Spiritual Worship
1 Corinthians 14:15 NKJV
What is the conclusion then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will also pray with the understanding. I will sing with the spirit, and I will also sing with the understanding.
Key to other spiritual manifestations
Jesus said that those who believe would speak with new tongues (Mark 16:17)

How to receive the Baptism with the Holy Spirit

Remove all barriers
Sin
False doctrines
Ask Jesus to baptize you with the Holy Spirit
Luke 11:9–13 NKJV
“So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish? Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!”
Believe He will give you what you ask
Receive it by faith
Release: “Let the river flow” (Stop praying in English and begin speaking in tongues which flow out of your belly or spirit)
