Having been predestined - chosen beforehand. This is for Jewish believers.
according to the purpose - Jesus is working all things together.

you also - meaning someone different. If it was someone not first to hope, it would be Gentile believers. (see verse 10 and maybe chap 2).
word of truth - there were over 50 deities in Ephesus. What is truth? (sound familiar).
gospel of your salvation - good news of YOUR salvation, because you believed.

14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory.
guarantee of our inheritance - down payment.
That means the Holy Spirit is just a taste of God’s presence.
