JOHN 15:1‑7
INTRODUCTION
The Declaration of Independence
We hold these Truths to be self‑evident, that all men are created equal....We, therefore, the representatives of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, in  General Congress, Assembled, appealing to the Supreme Judge of the World for the Rectitude of our Intentions, do, in the Name and by the Authority of the good People of these Colonies, solemnly Publish and Declare, That these United Colonies are, and of Right ought to be, Free and Independent States....
And for the support of this Declaration, with ta firm Reliance on the Protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor.
Being Independent is something that has always been admired in America.
Some of our greatest heroes were held in high esteem because of their independence.

However, you will not live long until you discover that even the greatest and bravest among us need strength that goes beyond themselves.
Indeed our Founding Fathers recognized this.
Listen to what Samuel Adams said at the signing of the Declaration of Independence
"We have this day restored the Sovereign, to Whom alone men ought to be obedient.
He reigns in heaven and...from the rising to the setting sun, may His Kingdom come."
We all are dependant on something.
Ø       Some have chosen chemical substances.
Ø       Others relationships.
Ø       Others occupations.
Ø       Some even food.
Jesus in our text calls us to declare our own Declaration of Dependance on Him.
