INTRODUCTION
The Importance of The Blood Covenant (1 Samuel 18:1‑4)
The Meaning of Covenant
Ø "Beret" means "to cut" can be translated Blood Covenant.
Ø Irrevocable, irreversible, contract based on blood.
The Method of the Blood Covenant
Ø Incision ‑ Right hands = Sharing of Personhood
Ø Garments given = Sharing of Possessions
Ø Weapons = Sharing of Protection
The Manifestation of the Blood Covenant
Ø Closer to each other than their own family.
Ø David was a hero ‑ Saul proud of David then envy.
Ø Saul set his heart on killing David.

Implications Of The Blood Covenant (2 Samuel 9:1‑13)
Ø The Blood Covenant extended to their children.
Ø "Kindness" (chesed) is covenant language, means mercy.
Ø David's kindness is based on his covenant with Jonathan.

APPLICATION
Notice the motive of the King
David passes the food and he sees the scare on his wrist, the mark of the covenant.
"I don't deserve it, but I can't deny it, so I am going to enjoy it"
1 John 3:1 Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.
Nothing you can do to make him love you any more and there is nothing you can to do to make him love you any less.
He doesn't love you because you are valuable; you are valuable because He loves you.
He does not change you so He can love you; He loves you so He can change you.
We need to realize that because of the Blood Covenant of Jesus, we have:
His Person ‑ his blood
His Possessions ‑ His robe of righteousness
His Protection ‑ all the artillery of heaven is aimed at the enemy.
