We all need someone.

We cannot go in this world alone. Many of us try but it just doesn’t work.

What is Christ up to now?

This may be a question some are asking. Maybe we ought to be asking this question. We read in the Gospels what Jesus was doing on Earth but after the resurrection we do not always spend the time focusing on the role Jesus plays today! However, if we can clearly understand what Jesus is doing right now, it will help us as we live out our faith. Or at least that is my assertion this morning.
To answer this question we must ask another:

How does a person gain access to God?

There are plenty of worldviews out there all answering a form of this question. We all answer the question by how we live also.

We must think Biblically!

Thinking biblically will help us to stand true and firm until the end. This is what the writer of Hebrews is trying to help the early church do, think fully Biblical. which means.

We will think like Jesus!

Jesus is the fulfillment of all Scripture.

Jesus is our High Priest

Now this may sound foreign to us, especially as Baptist since we have a belief based on Scripture of the Priesthood of all believers. We see Scripture as not having a distintiction between “pastors” and “church people”, we are one and the same. We believe that the Holy Spirit works in all Christians now just “holy ones”. Actually we are all holy, now if only we lived that way.

Because of Jesus we have complete access to God.

This is the role he played and as our high priest still plays.

Go boldly to get help from God.

We do not need to fear. in act this is what the writer is saying.

Because of Jesus stand firm.

God’s throne is full of grace.
