What do we do in-between sowing seeds and harvest time?

What do we do in the meantime?
We heard God say to talk about how to handle the waiting.
Hebrews 4:1–3 TPT
1 Now God has offered to us the same promise of entering into his realm of resting in confident faith. So we must be extremely careful to ensure that we all embrace the fullness of that promise and not fail to experience it. 2 For we have heard the good news of deliverance just as they did, yet they didn’t join their faith with the Word. Instead, what they heard didn’t affect them deeply, for they doubted. 3 For those of us who believe, faith activates the promise and we experience the realm of confident rest! For he has said, “I was grieved with them and made a solemn oath, ‘They will never enter into the calming rest of my Spirit.’ ” God’s works have all been completed from the foundation of the world,
Faith activates the promise, and we experience the realm of confident rest.
Confident Rest
At times baby’s know how to confidently rest.
They trust their parents will get them what they need when they need it. If not they will let them know.
When we hear God in what He has promised, we are to put our faith in what He said.
If we dont we end up putting our faith in what we can do to make it happen.
Psalm 130:5 NASB95
5 I wait for the Lord, my soul does wait, And in His word do I hope.
The parable of the seed
Mark 4:26–29 ESV
26 And he said, “The kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground. 27 He sleeps and rises night and day, and the seed sprouts and grows; he knows not how. 28 The earth produces by itself, first the blade, then the ear, then the full grain in the ear. 29 But when the grain is ripe, at once he puts in the sickle, because the harvest has come.”
Mark 4:26–29 NASB95
26 And He was saying, “The kingdom of God is like a man who casts seed upon the soil; 27 and he goes to bed at night and gets up by day, and the seed sprouts and grows—how, he himself does not know. 28 “The soil produces crops by itself; first the blade, then the head, then the mature grain in the head. 29 “But when the crop permits, he immediately puts in the sickle, because the harvest has come.”
What part does the man in this parable have?
He sows the seed, and harvests the crop.
Maybe he keeps out critters and waters when know rain is there.
He may keep out the weeds.
But in this parable he sows the seed and gathers the harvest.
He sleeps knowing the growing is out of his hands.
We are in a season like this parable.
We are to plant seeds.
We are too confidently rest knowing that God is growing those seeds.
When we see the fruit of those seeds, then we are to gather the fruit.
Most work before then is unnecessary, and more likely going to cause stress, anxiety, frustration, burnout, depression....
Danie and I have hard time with plants.
Where do you feel in your life you do trust the seeds that you have sown will come to pass?
Where is God leading you to trust him to grow the seeds He led you to sow?
We are to plant seeds.
Example:
I had been and still try to make the ground ready. I work hard at being patient and encouraging and not rocking the boat too much to till the ground of peoples hearts.
God gave me a word to look for soft ground not try to make hard ground soft.
This simply means look for people who light up when you talk.
Look for people who are already hungry for what God has put in you.
Dont try to make an unhungry person hungry.
Pray for people who are wanting you to pray.
Speak encouragement to those who want it.
Closing:
What do we do in-between sowing seeds and harvest time? God is inviting us to confidently rest in-between the seeds we sow and the harvest of those seeds.
This weeks Challenge:
What seeds do You want me to plant?
What areas do I need to confidently rest that You are working things out?
Help me confidently rest that You are growing those seeds.
