Joshua 5:13-6:21

INTRODUCTION

Sermon Background

Children of Israel on the move in Canaan

Jericho was a great city - impossible fortress

Would require supernatural intervention

Spiritual Truths

1.             It is faith that overcomes obstacles.

Hebrews 11:30  "By faith the walls of Jericho fell, after the people had marched around them for seven days."

2.         The weapons we use are spiritual.

2 Corinthians 10:4  "The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds."

3.             Christ is the victor we can trust Him.

John 16:33  ""I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.""

APPLICATION

The solider who fights best bows first.

 

No man can win by himself - we need each other.

 

When we follow God's methods, He wins the battle and He gets the glory.

 

Unbelief looks at the walls, but faith looks at the Lord!

 

We see the grace of God at work even in judgement.
