HOW TO BE RIGHT WITH GOD AND KNOW IT!

Romans 5:1-11

INTRODUCTION

“I love it when a plan comes together.” Luck involved. Many live their lives this way - Hope it will “come together in the end.”

Series Background

In Chapter 1-4 = Our need and God’s provision.

Sermon Background

In chapter 5 Paul deals with eternal security.

In verses 1-11 he outlines how we can know we are “right” with God and what that means.

1A.      THE PRIVILEGES OF JUSTIFICATION

“Therefore” = what is it there for - ties this to chapter 4.

1B.      Seen in our Standing

1C.      We are accepted by God (v.1)

“peace”= end of war - in harmony with God

2C.      We have access to God (v. 2)

“access by faith” = an ability to approach God

Hebrews 4:16  " Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need."

               The Little Boy and The Prince of Wales

A little boy gained access to the King only after the Prince of Wales took him in.

3C.      We have assurance by Grace (v. 2b)

We have the assurance of our standing because of God’s grace.
