LIFE ON THE ROCK

This Little Light Am I

Matthew 5:14-16

INTRODUCTION

On Being Light

“Whereas salt is hidden, light is obvious. Salt works secretly, while light works openly. Salt works from within, light from without. Salt is more the indirect influence of the gospel, while light is more its direct communication. Salt works primarily through our living, while light works primarily through what we teach and preach. Salt is largely negative. It can retard corruption, but it cannot change corruption in incorruption. Light is more positive. It not only reveals what is wrong and false but helps produce what is  righteous and true.”  John MacArthur

The World Thinks it is enlightened

1 Corinthians 1:20

Where is the wise man? Where is the scholar? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?

Where has the technology of our age gotten us?

We have great gadgets but no God!

We have substituted intelligence for wisdom!

Through the cross even a little child can know the heart of God!

We are THE LIGHT of the World!!!!

His Light Shines To Us

His Light Shines In Us

His Light Shines Through Us

1 John 1:5‑7

This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. {6} If we claim to have fellowship with him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth. {7} But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.

Psalms 119:105

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.

2B.          We Are The Subjects Of His Light!
