Why should I share the Gospel with other people?

Reminder of the Gospel

Matthew 28:16-20

These words come after Jesus’ resurrection

Jesus is going to ascend to heaven until he comes back to judge the earth

He gives his disciples final instructions

Go and tell everyone about Jesus

As Christians we obey Christ

Therefore, go share about Jesus

Sometimes we overcomplicate things

Maybe I need to pray about this

Maybe I’m not qualified to do this

This can’t be what God wants me to do

The simple part of following Jesus is that he gives us clear commands

The hard part is actually doing them

Jesus has told his followers to share the Gospel, so we must obey his words

This is not optional

John 3:16-21

Jesus is the only way to be saved

Those who don’t believe in Jesus are condemned

What does it mean to be condemned?

Sentenced to eternity apart from God

How can a loving God send people to Hell?

God is loving, God is also just

His desire is for no one to spend eternity apart from him

However, he has to judge what is right and wrong

Murderers, rapists, sex traffickers CAN be saved by faith in Christ and be forgiven of their sins

But if they don’t repent God MUST judge them for their actions

The same is true for you and me

Even if we never do anything really bad, we’ve all sinned and deserve to be judged accordingly

Do you care about other people’s eternal fate?

Who is one person you can share the Gospel with?

If you aren’t a Christian/exploring faith

Consider what Jesus’ words mean if they are true

Conclusion

As Christians, we should share the Gospel with people because it is an incredible message of God’s love for humanity. Jesus has given us the command to do it, so we should be obedient to Him. Forgiveness for our sins can only be given through Jesus, without it we are condemned to spend eternity apart from God. Out of love for those we know, we must share the Gospel and speak the truth in their lives
