FREE FROM FEAR - NO SEPERATION

Romans 8:31‑39

INTRODUCTION

Sleep is one of the most important needs of the human body.

Recent studies show that more Americans suffer from fatigue caused from too little sleep than from being overweight.

One of the basic causes of lack of sleep is lack of security.

A sense of insecurity will rob a person of the ability to rest and receive the sleep they need.

There are many areas of life about which we may feel insecure:

Work

Marriage

Dating

Family relationships

Appearance

Most important is our spiritual life.

Satan realizes that if he can keep us on guard or unsure about our relationship with Christ he can defeat us in every other area of our lives.

With this in mind Paul wrote the closing verses of Romans 8.

He gives us three undeniable, indisputable proofs of the security of our relationship with Christ.

2A. THE SUPERIORITY OF OUR SALVATION (vv. 33‑36)

"justifies" = to put into right relationship with God.

Salvation is purely a work of God ‑ This builds on the truth of verse 31.

4C. Christ's intercession insures our relationship.

1B. Over Death (v.38)

(1 Corinthians 15:55)  "Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?"

2B. Over Life (v.38)

(John 10:10)  The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

3B. Over Angels

(Galatians 1:8)  But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned!

4B. Over Demons

(James 2:19)  You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that‑‑and shudder.

CONCLUSION

There is no security without sonship

No peace without pardon

No rest without relationship

The question is do you have what it takes to know the peace and security of God.

If you do you have a personal relationship with Him.

If you don't you need a personal relationship with Him.
