Walking in the faith steps of our father Abraham
Gen 12-18
These are the steps of faith. Not a formula of how to. ( but developing confidence, trust, God inside minded, being spiritually minded Rom 8:6 )
"I walk by faith, to live by faith, I put my trust in Him." Rom 1:16-17
Rom 4:12
Heb 6:11-12
Overcoming sluggish faith, lack of assurance, and learning endurance.
The road map to receiving healing or whatever God has already provided. The need for diligence! Don't be lazy or passive. The devil is not passive. Don't you be passive. Don't tolerate the devils list.
1 Peter 5:8, Eph 4:27, James 4:7
The New Testament presents Abraham as a model of faithful life; a life that believes the truths of God and lives out those truths in day-to-day living. This is the kind of faith we should seek to duplicate; and with the help of the Holy Spirit, we are able.
Resist him ( the devil, sickness, disease, poverty)steadfast in the faith. You have authority. Luke 10:19-20.
Obtaining the promises through faith and patience. All the promises of God are yes and amen in Christ. 2 Cor 1:20
God had promised Abraham, “…and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed” (Genesis 22:18 ESV; cf. Genesis 12:3b, 18:18; Acts 3:25; Galatians 3:8).
So then those who are of faith are blessed with believing Abraham.
How could one man’s children be responsible for the entire earth being blessed? The answer lies in the fact that one of Abraham’s descendents would be the Savior of the world.
Jesus is the fulfillment of this promise. The apostle Paul explains this clearly, “Now the promises were made to Abraham and to his offspring”. It does not say, “And to offsprings,” referring to many, but referring to one, “And to your offspring,” who is Christ” (Galatians 3:16 ESV).
God’s plan was at work the entire time; moving toward the incarnation of Jesus Christ.
1. Learning about faith from Abraham the father of us all.
2. We are the spiritual seed of Abraham.
3. Because we are in Christ. Gal 3:7
Therefore know that only those who are of faith are sons of Abraham.
So then those who are of faith are blessed with believing Abraham. Gal 3:9
4. And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise. Gal 3:29
5. Galatians 3:14- that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
6. Heb 6:11-13-imitates those who through faith inherit the promise. Through faith and patience or endurance.( consistency ) Abraham is our example. How to receive the impossible.
7. A roadmap to success if we follow the steps of Abraham.
For if those who are of the law are heirs, faith is made void and the promise made of no effect, Rom 4:13
8. Rom. 4:13- the righteousness of faith. The right standing of faith. The rightness of faith. The just shall live by faith. Rom 1:16-17
9. Therefore it is of faith that it might be according to grace, so that the promise might be sure to all the seed, not only to those who are of the law, but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all. Rom 4:16
10. To all the seed. Everyone-that you- it's sure. You have faith to receive. Rom 12:3, 2Peter 1:1-2, Gal 2:20.
11. Faith and grace. True faith works in the atmosphere of grace, not works, religious performance, self righteousness. In other words grace is a gift, faith is a gift.
12. Faith always start with a promissory God's Word.
13. In the presence of Him.
This is relationship. It is essential in the steps of Abraham.
Faith borne out of a relationship with God. In other words relationship builds confidence in the faith you have received.
" In Him whom he believed" This is trust in your heavenly Father. Phil 2:13, 3:10, Are you after God or what He can give you? How He can benefit you? Just for the sake of knowing Him. Being familiar with your Father God. Matt 11:28-29.
Relationship is hearing God through His Word, his voice, still small voice in your spirit. John 10:27
14. "who, contrary to hope, in hope he believed, so that he became the father of many nations, according to what was spoken, “So shall your descendants be.” Rom 4:18
15. Sickness and disease is contrary to the Word of God, poverty is contrary to the Word of God. Yet Abraham in hope believed. How? The promise that God had made to him. Heb 11:1
16. Faith made void because of works. Righteousness through the law.
17. In whom he, Abraham believed.
This is a choice Deut 30:19.
Choosing to believe God over everything else.
What you see, or feel in the natural. Whether you believe the truth of God s Word or the facts.
Abraham made a choice. In spite of everything else. He chose to believe and that is why it was accounted to him righteousness.
When everything in the natural was contrary to what God had spoken.
18. God calls those things that be not as though they were.
In the spiritual realm they are real.
This is how faith operates. Faith calls, speaks, voice activated. 2 Cor 4:13- we believe and therefore we speak. Prov. 18:21, Mark 11:23-24.
20. Not being weak in faith? How?
Because faith did something contrary to what was felt, or seen.
Didn't deny reality but denied that’s all that exists. There is a spiritual realm.
Abraham considered not his own body, his age. He believed God and what God had spoken. He had less unbelief. Faith wasn't an issue.

a confident expectation of good things to come.
God throughout the Word gives us hope, another alternative than what we see.
Faith takes it and makes it your own

MEDITATION ON “IT IS FINISHED” (John 19:30-note) which can also be translated "PAID IN FULL!" THREE words in English, ONE word in Greek – TETELESTAI! The GREATEST WORD from the GREATEST MAN on the GREATEST DAY in all eternity! One word, but no word ever uttered has so changed the history and destiny of mankind. In Latin tetelestai is rendered with two words “Consummatum est” (It is consummated!) Jesus spoke 7 times on the Cross (Lk 23:34-note; Jn 19:36-note; Lk 23:42-note; Mt 27:46-note; Jn 19:28,30-note, Lk 23:46-note).
Is the perfect tense (see below) of the verb teleo which is derived from telos (a goal achieved, a consummation, a result attained) and means to bring something to a successful end to or to its intended or destined goal. It does not mean just to complete a task but to carry it out fully, to bring it to the finish or to perfection. It follows that Jesus’ cry of TETELESTAI is a word of finality. The idea is “It is finished, it stands finished, and it always will be finished!”
