Romans 11:30-36
INTRODUCTION
Application and Implications

1B. His Mercy To The Gentiles (30)
It is undeserved (17-18)
(1 Peter 2:9‑10) But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. {10} Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.
It is unmerited (19-22)
2B. His Mercy To The Jews (31)
God desires to restore Israel (11-16)
God is determined to restore Israel (23-29)
It is within God’s power (23-24)
It is consistent with God’s purpose (25-29)
To save the nation of Israel (25-26)
(Zechariah 12:10‑14) "And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication. They will look on me, the one they have pierced, and they will mourn for him as one mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a firstborn son.
This will come at the end to the Great Tribulation
To fulfill His covenant promise (27-29)
3B. His Mercy To The World (32)
2A. THE MAJESTY OF GOD’S WAYS (33-36)
1B. Beyond Our Comprehension (33-35)
In His wisdom (33)
(Psalms 139:6) Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain.
(Colossians 2:2‑3) My purpose is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, {3} in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
In His working (34-35)
(Isaiah 55:8‑9) "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD. {9} "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.
God does not need us, but we desperately need Him.
2B. Beyond Our Control (36)
(Colossians 1:16) For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him.
APPLICATION

He has chosen to extend His mercy to us.
We must respond in faith to God’s mercy while it is available.
