1 Peter 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asks for a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear.
1. Much of the world is now Listening.
Matthew 16:16-17 Simon Peter answered and said, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." 17 Jesus answered and said to him, "Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.
Notes:
A. Focus is the key to clarity.
Matthew 6:21-24 Jesus said…where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. 22 "The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light. 23 But if your eye is evil, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!
1. An eye for God helps you clarify your time.
James 4:14
Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life?
It is even a vapor, that appears for a little time, and then vanishes away.
Notes:
2. An eye for God puts judgment into perspective.
1 Samuel 15:23
For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, he hath also rejected thee from being king.
Notes:
B. Ungodly rebellion doesn’t fit well on believers.
Ephesians 5:3-4 But fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as is FITTING for saints; 4 neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor coarse jesting, which are NOT FITTING, but rather giving of thanks.
1. Some things will not change until you get mad.
Ephesians 4:26 "Be angry, and do not sin": do not let the sun go down on your wrath,
2. You will either be picked on, or picked up!
1 Peter 5:8
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour:
3. Sanctification is how we refocus and change begins.
John 17:15-17 I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one. 16 They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. 17 Sanctify them through Your truth. Your word is truth.
