My House is to be a house of prayer. V.45-46
My House is to be a house of prayer. V.45-46
1. Genesis 3 God meets with Adam and Eve.
2. Exodus 19:1-18 God meets with Moses on a Mountain.
3. Exodus 36-40:34-38 God meets with Israel and walks with His people.
4. 2 Chronicles 7:12-14
Then the Lord appeared to Solomon at night and said to him, “I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for Myself as a house of sacrifice. “If I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or if I command the locust to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among My people, and My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
5. Isaiah 56:7 “Even those I bring to My holy mountain . . . For My house will be called a house of prayer for all people.”
6. John 2:19 “Destroy this temple . . .”
7. 1 Corinthians 3:16;6:19 “Your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit. . .”
NOTE: Since our Body is a “Place” or “House” God has chosen to inhabit, what kind of house will you provide for Him? I want to suggest that if we surrender our bodies (lives) as a place for intimacy with God in (Prayer, scripture, service, sacrifice) We will gain healing and Understanding. Jesus by His triumphal entry has declared His authority to be King and Messiah and is fulfilling the Temple’s true purpose, a Place where God can be intimate with His people to forgive and bring healing and understanding.

The Healing Connection
The Healing Connection
1. Matthew 21:12-17 verse 14 “and the blind and the lame came to Him in the temple, and He healed them.”
2. Psalm 32:1-7 Sin affects our bodies but confession heals.
How blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, Whose sin is covered! How blessed is the man to whom the Lord does not impute iniquity, And in whose spirit there is no deceit! When I kept silent about my sin, my body wasted away Through my groaning all day long. For day and night Your hand was heavy upon me; My vitality was drained away as with the fever heat of summer. Selah. I acknowledged my sin to You, And my iniquity I did not hide; I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord”; And You forgave the guilt of my sin. Selah. Therefore, let everyone who is godly pray to You in a time when You may be found; Surely in a flood of great waters they will not reach him. You are my hiding place; You preserve me from trouble; You surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah.
3. Proverbs 3:7-8 Learning to obey Heals
Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and turn away from evil. It will be healing to your body And refreshment to your bones.
4. 1 Corinthians 11:27-32 An unexamined life while trying to be intimate with God may very well cause sickness and even death . . . to discipline so we won’t be condemned.
1 Corinthians 11:30 For this reason many among you are weak and sick, and a number sleep.
5. John 5:1-14 “Behold, you have become well; do not sin anymore, so that nothing worse happens to you.”
NOTE: Micah 6:13, Psalm 38:3
There is no soundness in my flesh because of Your indignation;
There is no health in my bones because of my sin.

What if a house (Body) surrendered to God had the potential for healing and health, would it be worth it?
NOTE: John 9:2 “. . .Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he would be born blind?” Not all disease and handicaps are because of my personal disobedience. But when my house is a house of Prayer, a place of intimacy, self examination, confession, and dealing with sin, could it also be the key to healing?
The Understanding Connection
The Understanding Connection
1. Mark 11:15-18 “Astonished at His teaching”
2. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 “All scripture is God breathed and is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.
Romans 12:1-2
“Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.”
NOTE: Surrendered to the depths of Jesus mind brings understanding that transforms everything we use our Houses (bodies) for. SEX< FINANCE< POLITICS< SERVICE <EVANGELISM<
CLOSE: If God’s house was always a “place” where God would meet with His people to speak to, to forgive, to heal and teach them how to live, is it possible that much of the pain, disease, and poverty is a consequence of our sin and or a discipline to turn us from our sin so we can live in the fullness of God? If that is the case would it not be wise and of eternal consequence to live in constant intimacy with Jesus?
