When Jesus was on earth He experienced the stuggle of the spirit and the flesh. Having seen the struggle first hand and won Jesus provided through and by the Holy Spirit grace to keep you while you grow and learn how to mortify the deeds of your flesh. As you learn through this grace and love remember your own stuggles when you see others and provide the same love and compassion the Lord showed you on your way to having power over your flesh.

Romans 7:14-25

Romans 7:14–25 KJV 1900
14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin. 15 For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I. 16 If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good. 17 Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. 18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. 19 For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. 20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. 21 I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. 22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: 23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. 24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? 25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.
Romans 8:9–14 KJV 1900
9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. 10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. 12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. 13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

In this life we are either subject to our flesh as one who doesn’t know Jesus as Lord and Savior or subject to the spirit as one who has been redeemed by the blood of his sacrifice to save mankind.

Since the sin of Adam in the garden, man has been in bondage to sin. He will die in his sin unless he believes that God sent his son in the world to die as a sacrifice and now intercedes for us and our salvation.

When we accept Jesus as our savior we are set free from the bondage of sin so that we may live according to the spirit of God.

Many have found that this is true but still struggle with having dominion over the flesh and may even question their salvation.

The Apostle Paul speaks of his struggles and learns that he would eventually overcome; but in the mean time God’s love and grace is sufficient.

God’s Light Reveals Truth, the truth about our flesh sold to sin by Adam.

Romans 7:14–20 KJV 1900

Light Enough to See the Battle and Prepare to Engage

Romans 7:21–23 KJV 1900
21 I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. 22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: 23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.

Miserable Situation, This is why Jesus Died

Romans 7:24–25 KJV 1900
24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? 25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

From Misery To Life

Romans 8:9–12 KJV 1900

Since We are Headed to Life Shall we Continue in Sin? God Forbid. Wage War

Romans 8:12–14 KJV 1900
12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. 13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

As sons of God love and grace carried us who are saved as we learned to overcome our flesh, we don’t always when every challenge but we have an advocate in Jesus letting us know his grace is sufficient. Likewise as we witness our brothers and sisters of the faith struggle as we have struggled let us also prove that the love and grace of God is in us, by lifting up the brethren instead of condemning.

Let us prove that the grace applied to our life is profitable to benefit others. You that have waged a good warfare, guide the youthful, that all may know how we wage the war against our flesh.
