Intro: This week we are talking about Faith Promise. At church sometimes we are bad about assuming everyone know what it is and what does it Intel. Lets start with who are the missionaries and why are they sent? Why are they sent? My intent is for you to have an better understanding of what Faith Promise is and why we are so passionate about it! So here are 3 K/W the will help use understand Faith Promise.
Whosoever believes in Him vs 11-13
Whosoever believes in Him vs 11-13
A. Exposition:Everyone who believes in Christ, Paul again quotes from Isaiah adding the Greek word pas, meaning “everyone” or “all,” to demonstrate that this promise applies to both Jewish and non-Jewish people
Whoever believes in the name of the Lord shall be saved
There is no distinction between us all. we are all sinners
We need His grace, so we call on his name.
B. Application: When it comes to understand why he loves us so much, and why he died for us , sometimes we can’t imagine the price he paid for our sins.
we see those that are lost so they can come to know Christ do you know him?
We tell everyone there is no difference we are all sinners
Everyone that calls and receives salvation have you done that?
Whosoever is called? vs 14-17
Whosoever is called? vs 14-17
A. Exposition: Paul is constantly quoting Isaiah in this chapter to show knowledge of the scriptures and show the truth from God’s Word. He want the Romans to know that it has been said before, because God is consistent.
How can we know unless we haven’t heard
If they are not sent who will go?
Faith is the key to it to hearing the Word of GOD
B. Application
why is it so important to have a preacher? K/w(kēryssō), proclaim; preach To tell the truth
We can preach unless WE are sent- Not just pastors we are all sent!!!
God bless those who go will you go?
MY illustration of being sent to preach the Gospel
Whosoever Will vs 18-21
Whosoever Will vs 18-21
A. Exposition: We see here God gave Israel chance after chance to turn back to him, they should have know better, but as we see it wasn’t the case so God turned to the Gentiles.
Although the Israelites rejected the gospel message, God turned their disobedience into a blessing for non-Israelites
In both the original context of Isaiah and in Romans, Israel rejects God’s gracious hand. Israel’s repeated resistance to God’s will prompts the question of their future in God’s plans
B. Application : God is often found by those who apparently are the farthest from Him, while He remains undiscovered by those who think themselves the nearest . God’s dealings even with reprobate sinners are full of tenderness and compassion; all the day long extending the arms of His mercy even to the disobedient and gainsaying
We have know heard what are we going to do with it?
Will we be like the Jews and know the truth but chose to ignore it?
Conclusion: So the question is are you faithful enough to put Christ first and heed the call? These missionaries did, but aren’t we all called for the service of Christ? So wont you come and be part of Faith Promise this week?
