1. What is obedience?

to walk in what we understand about God.

there are a lot of people who want ague about what they don’t understand while the neglect what they do understand.

1 John 2:3–6 NKJV

3 Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. 4 He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5 But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. 2. Why do we struggle with obedience?

9 “The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it?

Galatians 5:16–18 NKJV

16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

our flesh is contrary to the spirit.

we are born into the world of the flesh which is contrary to the will of God.

we have to learn to walk according to the Spirit.

3. How do you walk according to the Spirit?

Romans 12:1–2 NKJV

1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

the first thing we see in this passage present, that’s what I do I present my body to God as a living sacrifice.
