Pre-Sermon Ice Breaker
A boy just passed his driving test and asked his dad when he could use the car. Dad said, “You improve your school work, study your Bible, and get your hair cut, we’ll talk about the car.” A few weeks later Dad said, “You’ve improved you school work, you’ve been studying your Bible, but you haven’t got your hair cut.” The boy said, “In the Bible Samson had long hair, John the Baptist had long hair, Moses had long hair, even Jesus had long hair.” Dad said, “Did you notice they all walked everywhere they went?”
Introduction
Introduction
Which came first, the chicken or the egg?
According to science eggs existed before chickens. the oldest fossils of dinosaur eggs are about 190 million years old. Birds first appeared approximately 140 million years ago. Which means that in general birds came after eggs.
If we take the Genesis account as true, which we do, Then God can create with the appearance of age and created chickens after their kind which means that Chickens were created before eggs.
We may never conclusively know. But in our Scripture today we will learn that Born again believers come from an Incorruptible seed.
2. The 2021 Bible Challenge
We have been memorizing a verse of Scripture each week.
Can anyone share our first Scripture -
And they remembered his words,
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made:
Marvellous are thy works;
And that my soul knoweth right well.
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Our passage this week is
Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
3. Our Text
Throughout the month of January we have focused on the theme of Salvation. 1 Peter chapter 1 also focuses on this important theme, with no less than 8 references to it in this single chapter. Starting in verse 18 as the Chapter draws to its conclusion the author begins to closely examine Three times in Chapter 1 Peter speaks of the incorruptible nature of our salvation.
To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,
We were redeemed with incorruptible blood
Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
We were born again of an incorruptible seed.
Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
In this verse we learn Four Truths that will crystallize our understanding of the Theme of Salvation. Let’s look at them together.

Born again = Anagennao
Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

The Medium of Salvation
The Medium of Salvation
23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
The Span of Salvation
The Span of Salvation

89 LAMED.
For ever, O Lord,
Thy word is settled in heaven.
25 But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.
Conclusion
Conclusion
Which came first the Chicken or the Egg.
When it comes to Salvation we know that it was the egg that came first. the seed. And that seed is the Inerrant, Infallible, Inspired Word of God
R.A. Torrey wrote, “The Word of God is also the seed of the Spirit, it sows and quickens. The Word of God is the instrument of all varied operations of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, if we wish the Holy Spirit to do this work in our hearts, we must study the word. If we wish Him to do this work in the hearts of others, we must given them the Word.”
If you don’t know Christ as your savior, accept him today.
If you do know Christ share him today.
How by using the Word of God.
Let’s pray.
