John 14:1–7 CSB
1 “Don’t let your heart be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. 2 In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? 3 If I go away and prepare a place for you, I will come again and take you to myself, so that where I am you may be also. 4 You know the way to where I am going.” 5 “Lord,” Thomas said, “we don’t know where you’re going. How can we know the way?” 6 Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 7 If you know me, you will also know my Father. From now on you do know him and have seen him.”

1. Jesus is coming back for a People of Faith

We need to keep the faith in the midst of setbacks
We need to remember in whom we believe
Hebrews 11:1 CSB
1 Now faith is the reality of what is hoped for, the proof of what is not seen.
Hebrews 11:6 CSB
6 Now without faith it is impossible to please God, since the one who draws near to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
We can’t please God without faith
We must continue hearing the Word of the Lord so that our faith continue to grow
Hebrews 9:28 CSB
28 so also Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.
Problems cause many to lose faith
Like the man that pleaded with Jesus, we must ask Him to help us overcome our unbelief
1 Corinthians 15:58 CSB
58 Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the Lord’s work, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
We keep the fire burning when we are active in the work of the Lord
We must excel in His Work so that our faith doesn’t weaken

2. Jesus is coming back for a Victorious Church

Jesus built a victorious church
He said that the gates of hades would not prevail against the Church
The Church needs to reclaim its authority
Matthew 16:18–19 NIV84
18 And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. 19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”
Time that we start binding some things on earth
We bind sickness, disease, illness, viruses and we loose healing
We bind chaos and loose peace
We bind demonic attacks against Arise Church and we Loose victory for Arise Church
We bind depression and we loose joy in the Holy Spirit
We bind lack and we loose abundance
We bind division and we loose unity
We must be a victorious church, because that is what Jesus established

3. Jesus is coming back for a Complete Church

If one part is missing, we are incomplete
Almost complete is incomplete
1 Corinthians 12:28–31 CSB
28 And God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, next miracles, then gifts of healing, helping, leading, various kinds of tongues. 29 Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all do miracles? 30 Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues? Do all interpret? 31 But desire the greater gifts. And I will show you an even better way.
1 Corinthians 13:13 CSB
13 Now these three remain: faith, hope, and love—but the greatest of these is love.
Love will complete us
We need faith with love
We need generosity with love
We need prophecy with love
We need spiritual gifts with love
Without love we are not complete
Love is the glue to our fellowship
Love is the glue for marriages
Love is the missing ingredient in the church
Jesus is coming back for a complete church
Jesus is coming back for church without blemish or wrinkle
1 Corinthians 15:51–55 NIV84
51 Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed— 52 in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. 53 For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. 54 When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.” 55 “Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?”

4. Jesus is coming back to reign

We must understand that “being caught up in the clouds” (the rapture) is different from Jesus’ Second Coming
We will be caught up
1 Thessalonians 4:16–18 NIV84
16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. 18 Therefore encourage each other with these words.
I believe in premillennialism, that is that we will be caught up with Christ (the Rapture) and that Christ will Reign for 1,000 years while the enemy is locked away
The dead in Christ first then we who are alive
Nothing is said about the dead without Christ
The Rapture signals the beginning of the Tribulation
Jude 14–15 NIV84
14 Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men: “See, the Lord is coming with thousands upon thousands of his holy ones 15 to judge everyone, and to convict all the ungodly of all the ungodly acts they have done in the ungodly way, and of all the harsh words ungodly sinners have spoken against him.”
John 5:28–29 NIV84
28 “Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice 29 and come out—those who have done good will rise to live, and those who have done evil will rise to be condemned.
Revelation 20:1–6 NIV84
1 And I saw an angel coming down out of heaven, having the key to the Abyss and holding in his hand a great chain. 2 He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil, or Satan, and bound him for a thousand years. 3 He threw him into the Abyss, and locked and sealed it over him, to keep him from deceiving the nations anymore until the thousand years were ended. After that, he must be set free for a short time. 4 I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony for Jesus and because of the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or his image and had not received his mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years. 5 (The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended.) This is the first resurrection. 6 Blessed and holy are those who have part in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him for a thousand years.
We will come back with Christ after the wedding feast (7 years) in the clouds
If time allows Read
Matthew 24

5. Jesus is coming back to Reset our fellowship with The Father

Jesus died to give us access to the Father
No one comes to the Father except through Jesus
Jesus is coming back to Reset our fellowship with the Father
Genesis 3:8 NIV84
8 Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden.
We will be restored to Him
We will live forever with Him
Revelation 20:7–15 NIV84
7 When the thousand years are over, Satan will be released from his prison 8 and will go out to deceive the nations in the four corners of the earth—Gog and Magog—to gather them for battle. In number they are like the sand on the seashore. 9 They marched across the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of God’s people, the city he loves. But fire came down from heaven and devoured them. 10 And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever. 11 Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. Earth and sky fled from his presence, and there was no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what he had done. 14 Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. 15 If anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.
Revelation 21:1–8 NIV84
1 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. 2 I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. 4 He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” 5 He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” 6 He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To him who is thirsty I will give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life. 7 He who overcomes will inherit all this, and I will be his God and he will be my son. 8 But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.”
Revelation 22:5 NIV84
5 There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever.
