Anyone here like the show Wandavision? It’s great right? Like getting a new mini-Marvel movie every week.
I love the storyline, it’s unlike anything I’ve ever seen.
Here’s a quick run-down of the show:
In the real world, Wanda’s love interest, Vision, is killed by the ultimate bad guy, Thanos right in front of Wanda.
This traumatizes her, so what does she do?
She creates an alternate reality in a town called Westview, NJ, that is based on tv show from the 1950’s, 60’s and 70’s, and someone she finds a way to get Vision (who’s dead) to come and be a part of it.
Everything seems to be ok… until people from the real world try to break into this fake world.
And they start to talk about real-life things.
Which risks messing up this happy, fake world that Wanda has created for herself.
So what happens when this is threatened? Check it out:
*Clip from WandaVision*
Wanda, who is supposed to be one of the good guys, the Avengers, hurts another one of the good guys, Monica Rambeau, in order to protect her alternate reality.
This fake world where Wanda gets to have what was taken away from her- her love interest Vision- and life together with him, their children, and living the American dream.
But even after she throws Monica through a bunch of walls, then repairs the walls to cover it all up, the truth continues to haunt her because she sees a glimpse of Vision as he really is: dead.
This glimpse goes away quickly, but you can tell at the end that the happy-go-lucky world of Wanda is starting to break down.
This world has nothing to do with true love, it’s a cheap substitute for the real thing. It’s a fraud. And it will never bring joy to Wanda’s life.
