Sun Stand Still

Five Kings were at war again Joshua and Israel
Joshua 10:12-14: Then spake Joshua (Jesus) to the LORD in the day when the LORD delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon;(high hill) and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon.
13: And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.
14: And there was no day like that before it or after it, that the LORD hearkened unto the voice of a man: for the LORD fought for Israel.
Joshua = JesusGibeon = High Hill1,451 years later Jesus cried out Father forgive them
Luke 23:33-34: And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, (High Hill) there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left. 34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.
Question who was Jesus talking to?Was it the ones that beat Him, the ones that mocked Him, the ones that plucked out His beard, the one's that crucified Him?The only way anyone can get foreignness or salvation is.The Holy Spirit draw them and convict them of their sin. After that we must ask God to forgive us. Did not here anyone ask forgiveness but the one that was crucified with Him?What was Jesus asking His Father to do?Forgive them. The word Forgive here means to: Hold Back the judgment give my people more time to reach the lost.
2 Peter 3:9: The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
Longsuffering means: Hold back your JudgmentHe gave us time to do something.
1. 2 Corinthians 4: 3-4: But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
4: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
2. Matthew 5:14-16 Ye are the light of the world. 16: Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
3. John 17:18: As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.
4. Romans 10:11: For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
5. Luke 9:26: For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father's, and of the holy angels.
6. 2 Corinthians 5:20: Now then we are ambassadors for Christ
1. We are given the highest of titles: we are "Christ's ambassadors." The ambassadors are believers who are sent forth to represent the Sender and to announce the message of the Sender.
a. Four things are always true about the ambassador.
i. The ambassador belongs to the One who sent him out.
ii. The ambassador is commissioned to be sent out. He exists only for the purpose for which he was sent.
7. The ambassador possesses all the authority and power of the One who sent him out.
a. The ambassador is sent forth with the message of the Sender
b. John 3:16: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
8. Ephesians 2:10 : For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
Ephesians 5:16: Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
a. Time = Opportunity: walk carefully and strictly by redeeming (make use) of the time.
1. We are to use our time wisely; we are not to waste time. Time is a gift of God
2. We are to use his time by taking advantage of the opportunities that arise throughout the day. We are to redeem the opportunities...
1. To live righteously and godly.
2. To witness and share Christ.
3. To speak up for Christ and righteousness.
Ephes. 5:15-16: See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, 16: Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
The task for us is to redeem the time—make the most use of what time we have. The opportunity will soon pass because the days are evil.
The opportunity to witness will pass.
The opportunity to speak up will pass.
The opportunity to minister will pass.
The opportunity to work hard will pass.
The opportunity to pray will pass.
The opportunity to give will pass.
Psalm 90:12: So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.
John 9:4: I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.
Col. 4:5: Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.
Believer, Duty— Witness: walk wisely before people who are without Christ, redeeming the time.
1. The phrase "them that are without" refers to the unbelievers of the world, those who are walking through life without Christ and God.
• without hope beyond this life.
• without assurance of life hereafter with God.
• without help in facing the trials and traumas of this life.
• without peace.
• without security.
• without God's care and deliverance.
• without fellowship with God and His family of believers.
• without freedom from guilt—no assurance of forgiveness of sins.
• without light—no freedom from the darkness of death and the grave.
2. We are to walk in wisdom toward those who are without Christ, redeeming or making the best use of our time. To walk wisely means.
1. That we walk thoughtfully, figuring out how to live for Christ before the world.
2. That we walk righteously and godly.
3. That we walk guarding every step.
4. That we walk doing good works.
We are to seek every moment to live for Christ before the lost of the world.
We must always look for opportunities to do good and to let our light shine before men.
We try to figure out how to make opportunity to bear witness by the way we live.
