Communion Meditation

This morning, we will receive communion similarly to the way we received a month ago. While we sing the song “This I Believe” we invite you to come receive the elements of bread and juice and carry them back to your seat. If you need assistance I would LOVE to assist in serving you after we sing the song.
The Apostle Paul reminds us
Titus 3:3-7
Titus 3:3–7 NLT
3 Once we, too, were foolish and disobedient. We were misled and became slaves to many lusts and pleasures. Our lives were full of evil and envy, and we hated each other. 4 But—When God our Savior revealed his kindness and love, 5 he saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit. 6 He generously poured out the Spirit upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior. 7 Because of his grace he made us right in his sight and gave us confidence that we will inherit eternal life.
We are loved! God loves us so much that he sent his Only Son to save us, redeem us, and transform us.
1 Corinthians 11:23-29
1 Corinthians 11:23–29 NLT
23 For I pass on to you what I received from the Lord himself. On the night when he was betrayed, the Lord Jesus took some bread 24 and gave thanks to God for it. Then he broke it in pieces and said, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” 25 In the same way, he took the cup of wine after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant between God and his people—an agreement confirmed with my blood. Do this in remembrance of me as often as you drink it.” 26 For every time you eat this bread and drink this cup, you are announcing the Lord’s death until he comes again. 27 So anyone who eats this bread or drinks this cup of the Lord unworthily is guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord. 28 That is why you should examine yourself before eating the bread and drinking the cup. 29 For if you eat the bread or drink the cup without honoring the body of Christ, you are eating and drinking God’s judgment upon yourself.
As we sing, please feel free to come and receive the elements and return to your seat with them. We will take them together.
Prayer
After the song...
Reminders of the love and grace of Christ.
The bread is a reminder of his body broken for us. Let us eat together.
The juice is a reminder of his shed blood that was poured out for the forgiveness of our sin. Drink the cup together.
