Baptizo - to immerse/to be introduced into vital union with Jesus Christ. A radical change of state!

2B. Free from Sin’s Dominance (6-7;)
God Has Broken Sin’s Stronghold (v.6a)
At Calvary God dealt with both sin and self by putting us to death with Christ.
God Has Broken Sin’s Stranglehold (6b-7)
Therefore we should....Focus on the fact (v.7b)
3B. Free from Sin’s Destruction (10-11; 13)
We Can Appropriate Christ’s Victory (10-11)
“count”/“reckon” = accounting term ‘to take into account’
At Calvary the full price was paid.
All that is left is for us to count is as so.

Did we in our strength confide, our striving wold be losing;

Whoever controls the mind - controls the feet!

We are no longer belong to sin (11-13)

APPLICATION
Frederick the Great
Inspecting a prison. All the prisoner except one protested their innocence. The King asked “Why are you here?” “I am in prison for robbery, Your Majesty.” “ And are you guilty?” “Yes, I deserve my punishment.”
Frederick called the guard... “Release the guilty wretch at once. I will not have him kept in this prison where he will corrupt all the fine innocent people who occupy it.”
I am sure he left...
You were once imprisoned by sin... but Christ has set you free - act like it!
