SOUTHERN BAPTIST “ON MISSION WITH GOD”

Our Missionary Personnel

4,129 Missionaries serving oversees

 

Resident Missionaries or Representatives in 127 countries

 

We are assisting in 24 other countries

 

We have ongoing relationships in 32 additional countries

 

For a total of 183 countries!!

Our Mission Work World-Wide

In 1995...

A record number of new churches: 2612

Total baptisms 287,806

New cities opened to the gospel: 528

New people groups touched with the gospel: 41

Short-term Volunteer Missionaries: 15,000

Our Mission Work in Europe and the Middle East

Second Baptist In Oradea, Romania dedicated a 2,500 seat facility that was filled with visitors!

In Russia 1,500 Siberians became Christians


Our Mission Work in Asia

Evangelistic meetings in Nepal produced 1,500 converts

437 new churches planted and 40,602 believers baptized!

Our Mission Work in Africa

Volunteers prayed for a Senegalese man born crippled.  He stood and walked-completely healed.  A Muslim saw the miracle and immediately confessed Christ.

On a continent fraught with AIDS and drought-and where half the countries are at war - 103,637 people met the Prince of Peace.

Our Mission Work in the Americas

299 churches planted and 94,183 believers baptized!

Yet the Need is still Great!

Over 193 million people have never heard the gospel

The Last Frontier’s is still in darkness

1.7 billion people live in these hard to reach areas

God is working - since 1992 churches have multiplied from 55 to 1,027 and membership has grown from 1,830 to 59,000.


WEST HAVEN BAPTIST “ON MISSION WITH GOD”

First we can pray!

Then we can give!

$1 = 10 evangelistic tracts in Guatemala

 

$5 = a pair of shoes for an orphan child in Bulgaria

 

$10 = a year’s worth of literature for a Sunday School class in Guatemala.

$50 = provide enough fuel in a missionary’s vehicle to get him four hours into the bush of Ambia to start and/or teach a Baptist church and get him home again.

$100 = buy a bicycle for a home missionary in Angola.

$500 = put an 18' x 30' roof on a church in Kenya

$1000 = purchase a portable sound system for street preaching in the Azores of Portugal.

$5000 = buy two tents for starting new churches in Kenya.

Finally Go!

Go across the street, across town, across the state, across the country - around the World!

Just Go - You can’t have God or the Gospel with GO!!!!
