Psalms 19:7-14

Psalm 19:7–14 NIV
7 The law of the Lord is perfect, refreshing the soul. The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple. 8 The precepts of the Lord are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are radiant, giving light to the eyes. 9 The fear of the Lord is pure, enduring forever. The decrees of the Lord are firm, and all of them are righteous. 10 They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold; they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the honeycomb. 11 By them your servant is warned; in keeping them there is great reward. 12 But who can discern their own errors? Forgive my hidden faults. 13 Keep your servant also from willful sins; may they not rule over me. Then I will be blameless, innocent of great transgression. 14 May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.
May The Lord bless each and everyone that hears and obeys His word.
David begins this poetic psalms describing the perfection of the creator to the created
Psalm 19:1–6 NIV
1 The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. 2 Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge. 3 They have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them. 4 Yet their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun. 5 It is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, like a champion rejoicing to run his course. 6 It rises at one end of the heavens and makes its circuit to the other; nothing is deprived of its warmth.
Everything was created to the perfection of God the Father our creator to bring Him praise
Psalm 150:1 NIV
1 Praise the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens.
Psalm 150:6 NIV
6 Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord.

The Law of The Lord is a sure thing , making wise the simple
David wrote this psalms 19 he considers the glory of God in creation, and moves to reflect on the character and use of "the law of the LORD"
19:8. The Law’s precepts give joy to the heart and its commands enlighten one’s eyes, that is, brighten his life and guide him. The statutes (v. 7), precepts, commands (v. 8), and ordinances (v. 9) are all specific instructions within the Law. Joy and guidance fill the soul of one who meditates on and follows God’s commands.
19:9. Fear is here a synonym for the Law, for its purpose was to put fear into human hearts (Deut. 4:10, kjv). The Law is pure.… sure, and righteous. It was designed to cause believers to obey God and lead righteous lives.
Deuteronomy 4:10 NIV
10 Remember the day you stood before the Lord your God at Horeb, when he said to me, “Assemble the people before me to hear my words so that they may learn to revere me as long as they live in the land and may teach them to their children.”
v 12-14 Now we see Davids prayer for cleansing
Psalm 19:12–14 NIV
12 But who can discern their own errors? Forgive my hidden faults. 13 Keep your servant also from willful sins; may they not rule over me. Then I will be blameless, innocent of great transgression. 14 May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.
This Psalm, is also Didactic — (OT) A psalm designed to give guidance or instruction to us when we realize we are not obeying God’s command
But vs. 7-11 tells us of the power and favor of God in keeping His law
Prov 3:13–15 blessed are those who find wisdom and gain understanding
The word becomes so sweet to those that consume it. Honey was known as the sweetest taste in eastern ancient times
Ezekiel 3:3 NIV
3 Then he said to me, “Son of man, eat this scroll I am giving you and fill your stomach with it.” So I ate it, and it tasted as sweet as honey in my mouth.

In keeping them there is great reward conclusion

Romans 15:4 NIV
4 For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope.
Psalm 1:2–4 NIV
2 but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. 3 That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers. 4 Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away.
That Law of the Lord will give you an abundance of refreshment in times when most needed
The perfect Law of God (cf. “flawless” in 12:6; 18:30; Prov. 30:5) can change people. It revives the soul and the Law’s statutes can be trusted to make one wise.
what we know or need to know is that we need the rule of God in our lives and what we don’t know about His law can take us down a destructive path
what we know that He is trustworthy, right, gives us joy, opens our eyes, He is firm and righteous and if we obey His law it will bring about the salvation of Jesus in our lives a great reward.
This passage answers so many questions of why sometimes as believer we don't see what God is doing
