How to Share Your Faith:
TOUCHING a Life
John 4:19-25
Introduction
We are sharing Good News!
It is only Good News if it means something to me.
We must personalize our message.
This does not mean we change the message it means we help them see what the Good News is for them.
1A. Identify with their answer to the Two Questions.
Have you come to the place in your spiritual life where you know for certain that if you were to die today you would go to heaven or is that something you would say you're still working on?
Suppose you were to die today and stand before God and He were to say to you, 'Why should I let you into My heaven?' what would you say?
Repeat and confirm their answer!
Most people believe you have to be good to go to heaven.
2A. Share with them the Good News about Heaven.
1B. Heaven is a Free Gift!
(Romans 6:23) “…the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
The best things in life are free!
2B. Heaven is not Earned!
(Ephesians 2:8-9) "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-- {9} not by works, so that no one can boast."
No true gift can be earned!
Be sure to relate this back to their answer to Question two.
3a. Share with them the Bad News about Man.
"This can be seen more clearly when we understand what the Bible says about man."
1B. Man is a Sinner
(Romans 3:23) "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,"
Sin means to break God's law
We sin by doing wrong things and by not doing the right things
We can sin by our actions, words and thoughts
2B. Man cannot Save Himself
God's requirement is perfection
(Matthew 5:48) "Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect."
No one is perfect we all have sinned.
(James 2:10) "For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it."
Even one sin is too many.
Do you see now why it is impossible for you or me or anyone else to save himself by … (put their answer to question two here).
