Sharing The Good News

John 4:25-26

Introduction

The Most important thing you will do is Reveal Jesus to other people!

Be careful to emphasis this section

Place an emphasis on God's Word and God's way!

(1 John 5:13 NIV)  “I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.”

Use your New Testament

Know where you are going do not wander around!

Practice, practice, practice!

Do not get sidetracked!

Claim God's Promise!

(Isaiah 55:11 NIV)  "… my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it."

Keep the focus on Jesus…

1A.      Tell them the Truth About God!

God is Merciful, therefore He doesn't want to punish Us

This is Good News!

(1 John 4:8 NIV)  "Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love."

(Jeremiah 31:3 NIV)  "… "I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness."

God loves us not because of who we are but because of who He is!

God is Just, therefore He must punish Sin.

This is the Bad News

Ø      Sinful men must stand before a holy God at the judgement!

(Exodus 34:7 NIV)  "maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children and their children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation.""

(Romans 3:23 NIV)  “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,”

(Ezekiel 18:4 NCV)  "Every living thing belongs to me. The life of the parent is mine, and the life of the child is mine. The person who sins is the one who will die."

2A.      Tell Them the Facts about Jesus!

Who Jesus is… He is the God-Man

(John 1:1 NIV)  "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."
(John 1:14 NIV)  "The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth."

He is as much God as if He were not man at all and as much man as if He were not God at all.

He is God's perfect man and man's perfect God!

Thomas doubted the resurrection

(John 20:28 NIV)  "Thomas said to him, "My Lord and my God!""

What Jesus did… He died on the cross and rose from the dead to Pay the penalty for our sins and to Purchase a place in heaven for us.

He is our sacrifice - He died for Us!

(Romans 3:25 NIV)  "God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in his blood. He did this to demonstrate his justice, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished--"

(1 John 4:10 NCV)  "This is what real love is: It is not our love for God; it is God's love for us in sending his Son to be the way to take away our sins."

He is our substitute - He took our Place

(1 John 2:2 NIV)  "He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world."

(Isaiah 53:6 NCV)  "We all have wandered away like sheep; each of us has gone his own way. But the LORD has put on him the punishment for all the evil we have done."

Do not leave Christ in the grave!

(2 Corinthians 13:4 NIV)  "For to be sure, he was crucified in weakness, yet he lives by God's power. Likewise, we are weak in him, yet by God's power we will live with him to serve you."
