James 4:10 (NASB) Humble yourselves in the presence of the Lord, and He will exalt you.

2B.      A Honest Place

Isaiah 1:18-19 (NASB) "Come now, and let us reason together," Says the LORD, "Though your sins are as scarlet, They will be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They will be like wool. 19 "If you consent and obey, You will eat the best of the land;

Just As I Am...

2A.      THE KIND OF PREPARATION JESUS DEMANDS

1B.      Genuine Repentance

Acts 20:21 (NASB) solemnly testifying to both Jews and Greeks of repentance toward God and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Acts 26:20 (NASB) but kept declaring both to those of Damascus first, and also at Jerusalem and then throughout all the region of Judea, and even to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, performing deeds appropriate to repentance.

2 Corinthians 7:10 (NASB) For the sorrow that is according to the will of God produces a repentance without regret, leading to salvation, but the sorrow of the world produces death.

3B.      Conspicuous Faith

Romans 10:9-10 (NASB) that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; 10 for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.

Matthew 10:32-33 (NASB) "Therefore everyone who confesses Me before men, I will also confess him before My Father who is in heaven. 33 "But whoever denies Me before men, I will also deny him before My Father who is in heaven.

James 2:18 (NASB) But someone may well say, "You have faith and I have works; show me your faith without the works, and I will show you my faith by my works."

3A.      THE KIND OF PERSON JESUS DEVELOPS

1B.      Seeks God’s Presence

Jeremiah 29:13 (NASB) 'You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.

2B.      Obeys God’s Commands

John 14:23 (NASB) Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our abode with him.

3B.      Submits to God’s Will

John 5:19 (NASB) 19 Therefore Jesus answered and was saying to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, unless it is something He sees the Father doing; for whatever the Father does, these things the Son also does in like manner.
