Introduction

Scripture : James 3:1-18
James makes mentions of a stricture judgement for teachers. Anyone teaching the word is held at a more accountable level. Likewise, When you speak words they go into the air and you can’t take them back. Words can kill, can make you sick (Physically & mentally) or they can build you up and offer you hope (that’s what Jesus came to do. Once we understand that everyone is made in the likeness of God we may just re-examine ourselves when we put out words that put people down, lies, slandering, backbiting. Words (negative) once put out in ear shy speaks of your character and they act in a physical sense without laying hands on the person ( I have said many times in the past I wish I could be invisible so I could slap the person I am mad with without them knowing it me. James 4:1-3 words are like fire.
Point 1
Learning the scripture and applying it:
Imparting of spiritual, intellectual, moral, and social instruction. Proverb 22:6 , James 3:1
Intellectual has to do with wisdom, being rational and thinking about what to say. You just can’t say all manner of thing to people because you are mad, don’t like them, or even think you have a better way of doing something. You must have some morals; know the Godly way to act.
(most people know when they are acting out of character. They use excuses like God Knows me, I am Sorry, I just got caught up in the moment, selfishness, Jealousy)
James 3:14-16
Point 2
Responsibility; Liable to be called to account for your action. Mt. 12:36-37
God has entrusted humankind — both individually and collectively with responsibility. Humankind is, therefore, answerable to God. Initially, God gave humans the responsibility of multiplying, subduing the earth, and having dominion over creation ( Gen 1:28 ). As God revealed more of himself to man, man was given greater responsibility and thus became more accountable. The sin-nature in man seeks to shirk responsibility and to blame others for failures. There are a number of illustrations in Scripture in which a person attempted to shift responsibility for an action onto others.
Examples ; Esau complained that Jacob "deceived" him and got the birthright. 2)Aaron would not own up to the fact that he had formed the golden calf ( Exod 32:21-24 ).
Paul addressed the issue of accountability most extensively in the Book of Romans. He affirmed that God is righteous and his judgment is based on truth ( 2:2 ). Each person individually will give an account to God ( 14:12 ). The whole world is accountable to God ( 3:19 ). And no one get away!
Point 3
Communication
Speech: The communication of thoughts using spoken words. Prov. 18:21, Luke 6:45
God knows us all. We cannot escape what we say , do or our think (thoughts). Thoughts will have you messed up. The mind is like a fortress holding both good and evil thoughts. Thoughts at some point are spoken words and most of the time at a inopportune time (Proverbs 4:23 ).
A failure of communication
Inadequate perception, willful rejection of the truth.
Ephesians 4:18 (NKJV) ,James 4:1-3
Point 4
Eloquence
The ability to speak with fluency and persuasive power, using words appropriate to the circumstances.

Proverbs 10:18 (NKJV)
