Customer service
Do you know why they moved to call centers in a different state or country
Because there is no personal connection
Same as behind the idea of social media where you respond differently when the person is not in front of us
We can respond aggressively or shortly to people when they are not face to face or a part of our community
But what happens if we blow up on the phone with customer service?
Is there a consequence?
Now I brought up customer service but these verses in this Psalm are referring to all of our life.
I would propose also that how we live our day has a major impact on those around us and the blessing we receive from the Lord.
1- Control your tongue (12-13)
Often when our speech goes wrong so does our day
Or when our circumstances tempt us to speak wrong it perpetuates the bad
2- “depart from evil and do good” (14)
If you want to have good days then do good during your days
3- “seek peace and pursue it” (14)
Seeking peace is a choice.
You know the types who seem like they are hunting for a reason to be unhappy and complain
Seeking a like of peace is a choice
Transform yourself by the renewing of your minds (Romans 12:1-2)
Take every thought captive (2 Cor. 10:5)
4- “Trust the Lord, He has His eye on you (15)
The word “open” means attentive to.
Your responsibility is how you treat others, not how they treat you
The Lord is attentive to your reactions.
In word or in deed.
Speak the truth in love (Eph. 4:15)
But to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly Micah 6:8
“Have a good day” may be a way of ending a conversation and moving on to the next thing but that good day can become a Godly day when we follow these Scriptural principles
We can also go from having a blessed day to having a day where we become a blessing
