Why Am I SO fearful?

Psalm 27:1–2 NIV84
1 The Lord is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid? 2 When evil men advance against me to devour my flesh, when my enemies and my foes attack me, they will stumble and fall.
In this world, WHY would I fear???

WHAT IS THE SOURCE OF MY FEAR?

WHEN DAVID ASKS IN V4 TO DWELL IN THE HOUSE OF THE LORD, IS HE NOT ASKING TO PERMANENTLY DWELL IN THE LIGHT?

HOW DO I LEARN TO TRUST THE LORD?

IS THE KEY TO TRUST FOUND IN THE TYPE OF TIME WE SPEND WITH GOD???

How do I learn to Trust God?

B. Communion that brings security (27:4–6)

27:4. David further expressed his confidence in the LORD by his longing to dwell in His house. He would love to abide there all his life, to enjoy His beauty and to seek Him there in the temple. (Hêḵāl does not refer here to Solomon’s temple since it was not yet built. The Heb. word means a magnificent structure, such as the tabernacle; cf. vv. 5–6; 5:7; 1 Sam. 1:9; 3:3; the temple, 2 Kings 24:13; or a palace, Pss. 45:15; 144:12; Dan. 1:4.)

27:5–6. To dwell in the presence of the Lord would add to David’s security. The Lord would keep him safe in the day of trouble and establish him securely in danger. Consequently he would triumph (his head would be exalted) over his enemies and joyfully sing praises to the LORD. Perhaps the idea of safety in the sanctuary, where his enemies could not reach him, caused David here to meditate on the Lord’s protection. The word for shelter (sēṯer) is also used in 32:7 (“hiding place”); 91:1; 119:114 (“refuge”) to speak of God’s protection. David certainly knew the true Source of security.

19 Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.
