Imagine trying to watch the middle episodes of tv shows without ever having watched it before? We do that with scripture all the time.

Today, I want you to either continue in a stronger way than ever or maybe even for the first time truly fall in love with your Bible.

If I asked you, what are some ways to be closer to God? or to know Him more, What would you say?

So many of you would have this answer and you wouldnt be incorrect? But my fear is this. that many have gone their whole life withouthaving basic questions about the Bible answered. The investigation questions we should ask about everything?

What? Why? How?

In theology we call this Hermeneutics, but I hate that word because many people, especially your age, hear that word and are instantly turned away. So that is a fancy way of saying, How to interpret the Bible.

If the Bible is for everyone, than interpretation is for everyone.

Romans 15:4

For whatever was written in earlier times was written for our instruction, so that through perseverance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.

What is contained in this gives us hope? Without knowing and discerning the scripture we have no hope?

So there is a simple process I want to teach to you and I want you to try and do. When it comes to the Bible I want you to start by asking how? How do I read the Bible. These 66 books are not seperate storys, but they are ONE.

Interpretation: We live in the USA. We could not possibly be farther removed from original context. It is so dangerous and many pastors fall into this in teach you to read scripture with western eyes. We cannot do this. When Paul wrote, it was to certain people, in a certain context and in a certain are. So does that mean what Paul wrote doesnt apply to us? no!!!!! But we need original context to help us interpret scripture for our context.
