Everyone is looking for something worthy to live and to die for
Everyone is looking for something worthy to live and to die for
Even though we enjoy our Netflix and videogames. Something in our souls cries for a deeper experience in life.
He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end.
Since the old days' humanity seems to be in a struggle to recover what one day was ours. The experience of what is transcendent. The knowing of the supernatural. The enlightening from the darkness.
Back in the day a priest or prophet from any form of temple or god promised people a connection with that unknown world that everyone was craving. They claimed to have a special relationship with the powers above humanity. They claimed to have a voice of authority that would change the lives of those who would listen.
And people listen, even to the craziest ideas, because eternity has been placed in all of us. We all want a purpose that is bigger than ourselves.
Today we don't have temples or gods, or even prophets. But people are still listening to all kinds of ideas even to the millions with our digital platforms. We don't want to become like the priest or the prophet but we dream to be like the Youtuber or TikToker. Because they have access to that transcendent life that we desire. They have a voice that reaches far beyond their countries, they are loved and followed and rich. (As long as they follow the rules of the digital gods, they can have it all) and so we think.
Oh but if you only know what the true God is calling you to...
You see... God doesn't rescue you only to get you out of trouble. But He has a wonderful purpose for you and me. Let check the story.
Saved from Egypt
Saved from the Amalikites
Back in the mountain where God first spoke to Moses.
In the third month after the Israelites went out from the land of Egypt, on the very day, they came to the Desert of Sinai. After they journeyed from Rephidim, they came to the Desert of Sinai, and they camped in the desert; Israel camped there in front of the mountain.
Moses went up to God, and the Lord called to him from the mountain, “Thus you will tell the house of Jacob, and declare to the people of Israel: ‘You yourselves have seen what I did to Egypt and how I lifted you on eagles’ wings and brought you to myself. And now, if you will diligently listen to me and keep my covenant, then you will be my special possession out of all the nations, for all the earth is mine, and you will be to me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words that you will speak to the Israelites.”
A priest is someone that speaks from God to the people. And speaks to God for the people.
1.- He and she has a voice of authority and also of influence.
2.- Someone that is different in such a way that is attractive to others.
3.- A priest experiences the life that the human heart craves from the moment of conception. Because He or She is connected with that which is transcendent, eternal, supernatural but he is also able to bring others into that experience.
4.- A priest has the wisdom, love and goodness of the most impressive and important being of any reality. And He or She becomes a bridge for others to come into that life.
5.- A priest knows God and God knows Him. A priest has recovered what Adam lost. The partnership and walk with his Creator.
Coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious, you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. Therefore it is also contained in the Scripture,
“Behold, I lay in Zion
A chief cornerstone, elect, precious,
And he who believes on Him will by no means be put to shame.”
Therefore, to you who believe, He is precious; but to those who are disobedient,
“The stone which the builders rejected
Has become the chief cornerstone,”
and
“A stone of stumbling
And a rock of offense.”
They stumble, being disobedient to the word, to which they also were appointed.
But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;
The cool thing is that the Temple of God is not in Jerusalem any more... but in the Believers. In us. So to be His priest you don’t have to be in a physical temple serving God and the people but wherever you are. You can know God and make Him known. whatever journey in this life He is calling you to do. You are His priest. Yes, even if you become a YouTuber.
