Respond, Then Listen
Respond, Then Listen
When the Lord saw that he turned aside to see, God called to him out of the bush, “Moses, Moses!” And he said, “Here I am.” Then he said, “Do not come near; take your sandals off your feet, for the place on which you are standing is holy ground.”
When God appeared to Moses he responded. When Moses responded to God, He spoke. When Moses started listening, God commanded.
Humbled / Then Prepared
Then the Lord said to him, “Who has made man’s mouth? Who makes him mute, or deaf, or seeing, or blind? Is it not I, the Lord?
God “set Moses in his place”. ref. Romans 9 / Job 38-39
Who am I? Who are we to question God’s Sovereignty?
Sovereignty: God can do What he wants, When he wants, How he wants!
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
Trust / Then Obey
Then Moses and Aaron went and gathered together all the elders of the people of Israel.
Obedience requires persistence
You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.
Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might, for there is no work or thought or knowledge or wisdom in Sheol, to which you are going.
Practice these things, immerse yourself in them, so that all may see your progress. Keep a close watch on yourself and on the teaching. Persist in this, for by so doing you will save both yourself and your hearers.
