Hebrews 11:23

Can my faith make a difference in the lives of others?
How important is my faith to my family?
Background
Exodus 2:1-10
Why did God include Amram and Jochebed in his Hall of Fame?
1A. Faith’s Vision
1B. Faith sees people through the eyes of God’s grace.
A beautiful child = proper, unique
They saw the value and sanctity of human life.
Ø How many little babies have been murdered in USA? 1.5 million every year.
A Case Study

Ø Amram and Jochebed were praying people and people of God and His Word;
Ø They knew it was almost time to go.
Ø They believed that Moses would be used by God to fulfill Genesis15: 13-14.
2B. Faith sees events through the eyes God’s providence.
God's providence saved Moses
What they saw what they saw by faith!

Ø They did not practice fanaticism
Faith is to be shared. (Proverbs 22:6)
Ø Training is more than teaching. Teaching can be untaught. Training means to prepare someone for a contest, to instruct by exercise, to drill, to discipline for use.
Ø It is more than education.
"When you educate a man in mind and not in morals you create a menace to society." Th. Roosevelt
2B. Faith stands firm – “they were not afraid...” (Exodus 1:22)
They refused to be intimidated by the world.
How are you training your children?
Houston Police Department - 12 rules for raising a Juvenile Delinquent
1. Begin with infancy to give a child everything he wants, he will grow up believing that the world owes him a living.
2. When he picks up bad words laugh at him, he will think this is cute and will pick-up other words that will one-day embarrass you.
3. Do not give him any spiritual training, wait until he is 21, and let him decide for himself.
4. Avoid the use of the word wrong, it may develop a guilt complex. This will condition him to believe later when he is arrested for stealing a car that society is against him and he is being persecuted.
5. Pick up everything he leaves around, do everything for him so he will be experienced in throwing all responsibility on to others.
6. Let him read any printed matter he can get, be sure the forks and spoons are clean, but let his mind feed on garbage.
7. Fight frequently in the presence of your child so that he will not be shocked when the home is broken up later.
8. Give your child all the spending money she wants never let him earn his own.
9. Satisfy his every craving, denial may lead to harmful frustration.
10. Take her part against neighbors, teachers, and policemen after all they are all prejudiced against your child.
11. When he gets into real trouble, apologize for yourself by saying, "well I never could do anything with him."
12. Prepare for a life of grief you are apt to have it.
4A. Faith’s Victory
1B. Faith will produce a saved life. (11:24)
2B. Faith will produce a separated life (11:25-26)
3B. Faith will produce a successful life. (11:27-29)
Acts 7:22 And Moses was learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and was mighty in words and deeds.”
Faith honors God, therefore God honors faith
Application
Where did Moses get his faith? (11:1)
God saw to it that his mother raised him
Mom had trained him in the way he should go.
Where shall I place my faith?

Romans 5:1 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
