Do you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as the Son of God, and Savior of sinners, and do you receive and rest upon Him alone for salvation as He is offered in the Gospel? Do you now resolve and promise, in humble reliance upon the grace of the Holy Spirit, that you will endeavor to live as becomes the followers of Christ? Do you promise to support the Church in its worship and work to the best of your ability? Do you submit yourselves to the government and discipline of the Church, and promise to study its purity and peace? **THE LORD'S SUPPER THE WORDS OF INSTITUTION.........................1 Corinthians 11:23-32 THE INVITATION TO THE TABLE *THE CONFESSION OF FAITH.............................The Apostles' Creed I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth: And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord, Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, Born of the Virgin Mary, Suffered under Pontius Pilate, Was crucified, dead, and buried: He descended into hell; The third day he rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, And sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; From thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. THE PRAYER OF CONSECRATION THE SERVING OF THE BREAD THE SERVING OF THE CUP CLOSING HYMN..........................................What A Day That Will Be *THE BENEDICTION THE POSTLUDE...............................................Variations on the Hymns *All Are Standing **This morning, we are observing the sacrament of the Lord's Supper. The sacrament of the Lord's Supper at Covenant Church is for all those who, by faith, have received Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, do now repent of sin, endeavor to live a holy life in gratitude to Christ, and have publicly professed their faith through baptism and membership (or are pursuing membership) in a Gospel-proclaiming Church. Children who have not publicly confessed Christ and been admitted to Church membership should refrain from the sacrament and learn by reverent observation, even though they may have already received Christ privately in their heart. Those without personal saving faith in Jesus Christ are to refrain from the sacrament and are urged now to receive Him by repentance and faith. This admonition is given in love as a Biblical warning that "Whoever, therefore, eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty concerning the body and blood of the Lord. Let a person examine himself, then, and so eat of the bread and drink of the cup. For anyone who eats and drinks without discerning the body eats and drinks judgment on himself."
