Prayer Meeting - Wednesday, March 19, 1997

(1 Thessalonians 5:17 NCV)  "Pray continually,"

1A.      Begin with Praise and Adoration for God!

Ask each member of your group to share Praise for…

(Psalms 26:12 NIV)  "My feet stand on level ground; in the great assembly I will praise the LORD."

For what the Lord has done…

(Psalms 103:2 NIV)  "Praise the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits--"

Praise the Lord for who he is…

(Psalms 104:1 NIV)  "Praise the LORD, O my soul. O LORD my God, you are very great; you are clothed with splendor and majesty."

For what the Lord is going to do…

(Psalms 106:1 NIV)  "Praise the LORD. … his love endures forever."

2A.      Spend time in Confession

Ask each group member to spend the next 3-5 minutes in private confession.  Encourage them to name specific sins to God.

(1 John 1:9 NIV)  "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness."

Ask each group member to share in a time of public confession.  They may want to confess their lack of faith or doubts or some other troubling sin.

(James 5:16 NIV)  "Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective."

3A.      Offer God Your Thanksgiving

For God's Grace in our lives, ask for examples

(1 Corinthians 1:4 NIV)  "I always thank God for you because of his grace given you in Christ Jesus."

For God's Mercy in our lives, ask for examples.

(Romans 9:15-16 NIV)  "For he says to Moses, "I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion." {16} It does not, therefore, depend on man's desire or effort, but on God's mercy."

(Lamentations 3:22-23 NIV)  "Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. {23} They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness."

For God's abundant blessing in our Lives…

(Psalms 21:6 NCV)  "You always gave him blessings; you made him glad because you were with him."

4A.      Close by Bring God Your Requests

(Matthew 18:19-20 NIV)  ""Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. {20} For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.""

Pray for individual requests from your group, try to focus on spiritual needs
