Purpose: A Holy God who wants to have fellowship with His sinful people (Exodus 25:8 NLT)
I am perfect and holy, my people are imperfect, yet God still wants to have fellowship with His people, to live among you.
To have a holy sanctuary for His people to dwell with Him

Application

A nation of people, coming out of a pagan nation of Egypt, with all sorts of sin and God says I still want to have fellowship with you
No matter how sinful we are, no matter what you have done, thought, or have said- He still wants to have relationship with you!

Tabernacle Worth:

Exodus 25:40
This tabernacle was a copy of the heavenly tabernacle or heavenly temple, so very important that Moses and the children of Israel to build exactly how God specified in Exodus 25-40
Many scholars estimate that if we were going to build the tabernacle today, it wold be well over 100 million dollars in worth, which lets us know that God is a King and Royalty.

Ark of the Covenant

‎As a symbol of God’s presence with Israel, the Ark of the Covenant was the center of Yahweh worship and was brought into the temple each year at Passover (Psa 24:7–9). It housed the covenant tablets; an omer of manna and Aaron’s budding staff were either set before the Ark or in it (1 Kgs 8:9; Heb 9:4).
Also called Ark of Testimony, Ark of God
Israelites believed that the Ark was symbolically Yahweh’s throne- representing His presence on earth and the location from which Yahweh promised to speak
made of pure gold
Carried by poles , reminiscent of not being able to touch the mountain or die Israelites wander in the wilderness (Exodus 19:12-13)

Ark of Covenant: Definition

A wooden chest overlaid with gold that contained the tablets of the law. It served both practical and symbolic purposes and was instrumental in both rituals and miracles. The Israelites believed the ark of the covenant was symbolically Yahweh’s throne—representing His very presence on earth.
The Hebrew word for “ark” (ארון, 'rwn) designates a chest or coffin. However, the Bible makes a clear designation between the ark of the covenant and a common chest.

Mercy Seat:

A covering for the altar where God spoke with Moses and where the blood of sacrifices was to cover. Also: “Ark’s Cover” and “Mercy-seat.”
Sits on top , made of gold
God’s ‘resting place”
