OPEN DOOR OF DESTINY – USING YOUR MOUTH
1 Samuel 17: 45-46: “Then said David to the Philistine, thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied. This day will the Lord deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcasses of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel”. Key Texts and Scriptural Focus
The mouth is a major door to great victories because inside the mouth is a very powerful weapon called the tongue.
James 3:5–9 NKJV
5 Even so the tongue is a little member and boasts great things. See how great a forest a little fire kindles! 6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell. 7 For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and creature of the sea, is tamed and has been tamed by mankind. 8 But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. 9 With it we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the similitude of God.
According to James 3: 5-9, the Bible says the tongue is powerful enough to set the entire course of nature on fire. In other words, the tongue is far, far more powerful than any atomic bomb.
Proverbs 18: 21 says, “death and life are in the power of the tongue.” In other words, your tongue can bring death to your enemies and bring life to you. The tongue works like electricity – you use it correctly, it can be a very, very good servant. Can you imagine what will happen if there is no electricity? I just wonder how people lived when there was no electricity. Without electricity the car cannot work, the fridge cannot work, the fan cannot work, the computer cannot work. There would be no airplanes, so on, and so forth, yet, when electricity is used the wrong way it can bring sudden death. Today you are going to use your tongue powerfully and I am believing God for somebody – by the time the sun rises all your enemies would have been dealt with. But the tongue cannot work if you do not open the door of the mouth. If you shut your mouth, powerful as the tongue is, it becomes ineffective.
Just one shout of Alleluia can clear the air of demons.
That is why I pity those who are too educated to open their mouths. The elders have a saying; if you keep your mouth shut, your problem will keep its mouth shut and stay with you.
Today, somebody’s problems will be over. The power of the tongue or the open mouth is illustrated in a story in Matthew 12: 22. They brought a man to Jesus who was blind and dumb, and the Lord healed him. The Bible recorded the incidence as-the blind and dumb man whom now spake and saw. It says he was a blind and dumb man, so the sequence of the miracle should have been that he both saw and spake. Instead, the Bible says, “he both spake and saw” because speaking is far, far more important than seeing.
David cried to God in Psalm 51: 15. He said, “Open thou my lips O Lord; and my mouth shall show forth thy praise.”
Whatever is sealing your mouth shall be removed today in Jesus’ Name. Whatever it is that will not let you open your mouth to praise God, will vanish forever in Jesus’ Name. Once this door of the mouth is open, victory begins.
Revelation 12: 11 says, “they overcame the devil by the blood of the Lamb, and the words of their testimonies.”
Do you know some people die because they fail to testify? God healed them, yet they refused to testify so the devil came and stole away their healing. I have good news for somebody; because from today you will begin to testify, your victory will be permanent in Jesus’ Name.
The moment the mouth is opened, victory begins because help becomes available. In Psalm 50: 15, God said, “call on Me in the day of trouble and I will answer you and deliver you.” Call on me – if you do not call there will be no help.
Psalm 34:6 NKJV
6 This poor man cried out, and the Lord heard him, And saved him out of all his troubles.
John 14:14 NKJV
14 If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.
Psalm 107:20 NKJV
20 He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions.
He has done repeatedly, He will send His Word to you in Jesus’ Name. In John 11: 43-44, Jesus stood outside the tomb of Lazarus, but He did not go in. He sent His Word – ‘Lazarus, come forth’, and the Word went into the kingdom of the dead. Even death cannot resist that Word – today in the mighty Name of Jesus, every good thing in your life that had died, will come forth in Jesus’ Name – your Lazarus will come forth in Jesus’ Name. In Mark 11: 12-14 and 20-23 the Bible tells us that Jesus came to a fig tree, expecting to find fruit there but there was no fruit. Immediately He sent His Word and said, “fruitless fig tree, you are dead.” Initially it was still looking green whilst the disciples were looking at it. They said, Master you spoke to the blind, and they see. You spoke to the lame, and they walk. You spoke to the tree, yet it remains green. They did not know that the Word had gone to the root and killed the root. Every one of you, with cancer, with HIV-AIDS, with diabetes, with any form of incurable disease, in the mighty Name of Jesus, I curse them all from the roots. The following day, not only was the tree dead, it was on its side, uprooted from the roots. Everything that is causing fruitless efforts in your life, every fruitless fig tree in your life shall die as you read this book in Jesus’ Name.
Do not be like the world; do not quickly forget what the Lord has done. Remember all He did for you in the past, remember what He has done for you since you became born again. Remember what He has done for you since you were an infant. Remember how many of you went to primary school together, and how many of them are gone now. Remember those of you who remain. 1. Remember the mercies of God and do not forget all His benefits. Go ahead bless the Lord. Since we shouted happy New Year, many people have died. Some died by motor accidents, some even roasted to death. A whole family slept and they did not wake up. You are not better than them, but it is of the mercy of the Lord that we are not consumed. Say Father, thank you for your mercies. 2. Father, this month, let my sun rise, and never to set again The Bible says, “if the foundations be destroyed what can the righteous do?” The Lord has given us time in which to put right the foundations of our lives and the days are ending, so pray: 3. Father, whatever is wrong with my foundations – put it right today forever. 4. Father, every good thing that I had lost, through carelessness, Lord let me regain this month. 5. Father, everything the devil has stolen from me, compel him to restore now.
I want you to pray with confidence and say, “in the mighty Name of Jesus, lift up your heads O ye gates, and be ye lift up ye everlasting doors. King of Glory, come into my life now,” 7. I want you to pray for all those who are fasting and praying at this period and say, “Father, do not let this period be in vain, please answer all our prayers.” 8. Now you will pray for the church of God. Lift your voice to the Almighty and say, “Father, expand the coast of Your church, and make me a vessel unto honour to do so.” 9. Now I want you to pray for all your relatives and friends that are not yet saved. Pray that this very month, one way or the other, God will bring them to salvation. 10. Now go ahead pray for yourself. Whatever you want from God ask Him for specific blessings If you believe that your sun is already shining shout Alleluia, and the sun will never set in Jesus’ Name.
Tongue ..
Psalm 42:7 NKJV
7 Deep calls unto deep at the noise of Your waterfalls; All Your waves and billows have gone over me.
Deep Talk , Sound talk..
“The deep of man’s need calleth unto the deep of God’s fulness; and the deep of God’s fulness calleth unto the deep of man’s need. Between our emptiness and His all-sufficiency there is a great gulf. . . . Deep calleth unto deep. The deep mercy of God needs our emptiness, into which it might pour itself. . . . Nothing can fully meet the depth of our need but the depth of His Almighty fulness” (William B. Eerdmans Publishing Company, 1971. Vol. 8, p. 11.)
We hit upon the meaning of deep calls to deep when we recognize that human needs are great, but the riches of God are greater. Our wisdom is shallow, but His knowledge and judgments are unsearchable (Romans 11:33–34). God’s thoughts are deep (Psalm 92:5). His love is as deep as His immense heart (Ephesians 3:18–19), as He proved when He gave His only begotten Son to die for us (John 3:16). The height, breadth, and depth of God’s resources are without measure. From the depth of his despair, the psalmist found help in the depth of God’s goodness, and he was able to say in conclusion, “Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again—my Savior and my God!” (Psalm 42:11, NLT).
We are dealing with a metaphorical phrase in this scripture verse and the Holy Bilbe contains many similar phrases such as:
Psalm 19:2 Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.Psalm 130:1 Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O Lord.
This phrase “deep calls unto deep” consists of communication through prayer, from deep within the heart/mind of a man appealing to the deep recesses (a secluded or secret place) of the heart/mind of his God in a time of dire need and possibly suffering at the hands of enemies (waves and billows or tempestuous times):
Psalm 42:7 Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy waterspouts: all thy waves and thy billows are gone over me.
The following verse speaks of “blessings of the deep” which come from God. This is what Jacob prayed over Joseph when he was blessign his twelve sons. He asked God to bless Joseph with children:
Genesis 49:25 Even by the God of thy father, who shall help thee; and by the Almighty, who shall bless thee with blessings of heaven above, blessings of the deep that lieth under, blessings of the breasts, and of the womb:
King David was praising and glorifying God in the verses below:
Psalm 92:5 O Lord, how great are thy works! and thy thoughts are very deep.Psalm 36:6 Thy righteousness is like the great mountains; thy judgments are a great deep: O Lord, thou preservest man and beast.
King Solomon in his wisdom wrote this Proverb showing the wisdom of the man who understands when he has received good advice and uses it:
Proverbs 20:5 Counsel in the heart of man is like deep water; but a man of understanding will draw it out.

I pray that this helps you to understand the phrase.
