Likely the most-read/recited version; in arguable
Matt. 6:9-13
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
We will note the 2nd part is disputed textually
Not inconsistent with the totality of Scripture
Not in the earliest of manuscripts
OUR Father
When we state “our” we acknowledge two things
The universal nature of mankind; all made in God’s image
All men, women; races; statuses; skill-sets; intellectual abilities…political views
Do we have those upon whom we look down?
Also, the brotherhood of believers
There are solid believers who are not Baptists or [whatever] denomination
Their practice may be different; but faith is the same—even if they have some errors…or if you do
